Namco Bandai Promises New Netcode For Tekken Tag Tournament 2Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is slated for release one year from now as a holiday 2012 title. The console version will have new unspecified features that aren’t in the arcade version currently playable in Japan. Namco Bandai promises Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will have "comprehensively reworked" online play in direct response to fan feedback.

 

A fan on Twitter asked Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada if the console version would have new characters. Harada tweeted back, "No comment. Surprise ;P."

    The game already has the most characters in a Tekken game ever.  Adding anymore would be nice, but other than the characters who never returned from Tekken 2/Tekken 3, there isn’t much more.

    Aww, what the heck.  Bring back Dr. Boskonovitch!!  :)

    the only character i think they can add is Michelle, Ogre(Human Form) and Kunimitsu(which is rumored to be in the console version)

    all in all if these 3 make it along with Tekken Hybrid Costumes(especially the Devil Jin and Devil Kazuya’s new version)

    i’ll play this for 10 years for sure :P

    Like it’s going to fix anything. New netcode, old problem (persists). I’d gladly take a massive amount of offline content over online play anyday.

    Tag 2 is hype though. ^_^

      I’m sure you’re in the minority there. No offline content will ever give you the replay value of 1 on 1 competition.

        That wasn’t exactly my point. Offline content in fighters always include Vs. mode, right? ; )

    why does people keep hoping for old characters to come back? does that make you feel old and hardcore about yourself or something? isn’t new character much better? i mean look at how much love alisa and lars received.

    i bet smokeloads of people doesn’t even know about jun until the major fan hype her for TTT2 addition.

    NEW CHARACTERS PLEASE! i don’t care if he join the king of iron fist tournament to rescue his daughter from mafia or just simply bloodlust like bryan, anything is fine!

      The TT games are supposed to bring back old characters.  The canon entries are what’s supposed to bring in new characters.

        What is “supposed” to? TTT didn’t have any brought back, with two additions of Unknown and tetsujin. and of course new canon game is supposed to have new character. here we already have Jun, Orge, Jinpachi because fans begged for it. i say enough, need more colors into the game, Leo, Alisa, Lars, Miguel, Bob, Zafina totally added new colors to the cast. and we need more of that.

          We want old and new XD Nostalgia is very important to us and the game is already packed with characters. New would be nice and I don’t really mind it but what I DO mind is how they keep making the new characters overpowered. Not to say that old characters aren’t overpowered(heck they’re bringing back jinpachi!). I’m all for both.

          So far the vibe for TTT2 has been classic. They release a hybrid pack, change the opening movie to sounds like the previous tag game and they bring back “Jun”. And there’s well over 40+(almost 50) characters in tekken already.

          What they SHOULD do is allow us to use the secret costumes like before. Angel, Alex, Tiger, Tetsujin, Unknown, etc. I mean they do it for panda/kuma in the current games and now something interesting for devil kazuya and jin.

          I’d personally would like a more feminine Leo outfit setup option and for  the heckovit, some DLC for the previous outfits of every character in the game X3

            Namco totally need to support tekken a little bit more, Quality costume DLC, but don’t rain it like Disgaea or something, more balance patches if possible.
            After Tekken 6 the only thing they did was slightly improved the netcode once, that’s it. =/ need more support.

            on the character side. to be honest, Dr.B is the only character left that i actually think should go in, due to somewhat unique moveset. the rest can go to hell for all i care. if they really want it that much, then as you said, just a cosmetic change is fine.

            definitely more outfits! we had no where near enough for T6 :P I mean alisa only have 2 alternate sets. + 2 main set = 4, and i never liked that russian style set, it’s not like her at all.
            (secretly wish for cowboy alisa)

            Lol yeah I think Capcom owes Namco some outfits to be honest. Every time I boot the game and see “checking for DLC” I just *sigh* and move on. The only DLC they had was that cardboard samurai outfit for Yoshimitsu along with the flags and that was only if you preordered it. I agree-They really need to do better with that.

            I remember that netcode update like it was last thanksgiving XD remember the slow downs before it came out? Every fight was like the matrix at some point. But i’m glad they fixed it X3

            Lmao Dr.B was insane! I’d kill to see him fight in HD these days- oh the juggle possibilities~! They sure did show off Heihachi’s cosmetic change lol

            I agree- they really should have added another. I mean the artist behind Naruto, Clamp, and even the Tales series helped out on Lar’s, Jin’s, and Zafina’s outfits. I didn’t really like the “Tapout” shirts took out a lot of peoples 3P outfits too. I hope they go all out on Tag.

            I always thought Alisa look strangely awesome in that cowboy hat! XD I’m sure your on to something with that! Rocket punch A Can from 500 paces Lol
