Is Square Enix Preparing To Reveal "Guardian Cross?"Square Enix is working on something called Guardian Cross. The publisher filed a trademark Guardian Cross in Europe and snapped up the domain name: guardiancross.net. Right now it’s blank, but registration information links it to Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada.

 

Back in August, we discovered Square Enix reserved the domain Bravely Default, which was revealed a few weeks later as a Nintendo 3DS game.

 

There are a couple of projects Guardian Cross could be tied to. The rumored PS3/Vita game is a possibility, but the upcoming arcade game tieup with ByKing seems more likely since Square Enix will reveal that on January 11.

        Nope , They are tryin’ to bring out the sequel to its roots 100% ( without overdrive thing hopefully ) and Yes SE doesn’t have the rights to Naming the game “Parasite eve” anymore so yeah .. I wish it will be Parasite eve title but sadly it wont !
        Trust me this new one will blow up your mind even if we don’t know anything about it . . . but Time will tell Believe me .

    S-E for me anymore is pretty hit or miss so I am keeping my expectations low.

      I don’t expect from SE anything besides FF and KH anymore. They simply lost their creativity.

      Consoles, probably, but their portable releases have been top notch.

    Guardian Cross? Seriously, I don’t give f*** about either Bravely Default, or Guardian Cross or anything that pops out nowhere… I want a legit FFV and FFVI remake, and I want Type-1. I don’t want new IPs from SE because we are not in late 90s now, Square is not Square anymore, the company lost the productivity and originality so much ago, I don’t excpect them to make a new Parasite Eve or Xenogears-like game from scratch. 

    Guardian Cross? So what, seriously, this is one game that I never expect. Of course, if it related to Chrono series, then I can swallow my words happily.

      I would like to see remakes too but Bravely Default interests me and I found TWEWY to be a brilliant new series from them.  If any new RPG they make is anything like the creativity put into TWEWY we would be all set for life.

        As I replied up there, the only classic and original IP SE brought to us was TWEWY. Anything besides it? Nier? Are you kidding me?

        No, I just want them to focus FF, KH an DQ franchises. At least they can do right things with their rooted series than unoriginal and boring new IPs.

      You just want remakes and you act like they can’t mess them up just because their remakes lol. Do you even know what the game is about or even what it plays like?  No because fans love to jump to every conclusion now to judge a book by its cover before they even show you the book.

        Do you actually believe that SE will make a good original IP? I mean, TWEWY was a classic, but if SE makes 10 games, 1 of them happens to be a classic, when I said “we are in late 90s anymore” I meant that in that times, Square makes 10 games, 7 of them were instant classic. 

        And yes, even it means only expecting FF and KH from SE, I don’t want to meanless, cheesy IPs. Because it seems like SE is mainly focused FF series and KH.

    Hmmm if they trademarked it in Europe, I guess it wouldn’t be the Byking collaboration project. Arcades are pretty dead in places other than Asia.

      I guess you stopped paying attention to their games many years ago because they still have some great games.  Dissidia,FF type 0,tactics ogre, FF the years after.  Its only the mainline FF games that are bad along with its ds remakes.

        I wouldn’t count Tactics Ogre in there.

        FF the years after also had a sort of mixed result, though it wasn’t bad.Dissidia’s fun enough.

        No comments on FF Typo 0 yet.

        But I don’t think it’s Squeenix we need to thank…

          Yea, somehow I doubt Squeenix would/could make a game like Tactics Ogre from scratch, unfortunately. Kind of bittersweet playing it, ’cause you know they don’t make ‘em like that anymore.

          Ok i’ll scratch tactics ogre off of the list.  Though even if you don’t like dissdia(not really talking to you specifically here)its still original and its still a good game that actually came out of nowhere.   The KHBBS is good and I don’t even like KH but I can see why some would call the game crap or not good.  I think they do well enough seeing as how other companies are getting praise just by hype alone and their games ain’t all that great(bioware i’m looking at you and ME2 & ME3)

      That’s just false and of course your opinion, their portable work is top notch and although it has its bumps, XIII is a great game.

      Square stopped existing a long time ago, one of the last games it gave us was Kingdom Hearts 1.

      Then Squeenix appeared. Just so you know, Kingdom Hearts 2 is made by Squeenix.

      You can tell some of the changes in the company by looking at the differences between the Feel of the gameplay and the pacing and the presentation  and the story between Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2.

    The PS3/Vita game would fit nicely with the title. Y’know with the whole crossplay between the two? Actually… that’s a minor thing to influence a game’s title. Nevermind lol.
