Nintendo Hired English Voice Actors For Mistwalker’s Archaic Sealed Heat

While it was never officially announced, Nintendo of America was working on an English version of Archaic Sealed Heat. The Nintendo DS game is a strategy RPG developed by The Last Story and Blue Dragon developer Mistwalker that Japan got in 2007.

A rating for Archaic Sealed Heat mysteriously popped up on the ESRB indicating intent to release the game overseas. But, how far was it in development? Apparently, far enough to hire voice actors. Metaknight’s Super Smash Brothers Brawl voice actor was Bamygarabald and another voice actress is Maritie, one of the party members.

Other than being Mistwalker’s first DS game, Archaic Sealed Heat was known for its massive (and probably expensive) 2 GB cartridge size. Perhaps, that is one of the reasons why Nintendo ultimately decided not to publish the title even though somewhere out there a partially (maybe even complete?) localized version exists.
