Fire Emblem: Awakening Comes Out In AprilNintendo set a release date for the next Fire Emblem game and its going to come out in Japan on April 19 under the name Fire Emblem: Awakening.

 

Iwata did not disclose downloadable content details and instead mentioned how the game will play like previous games in the series.

    Could anyone tell me if this Fire Emblem is a new one or a remake like the last 2?

    Battle visuals looked so hot, wow, especially the character cut ins and the graphics to one of the sword attacks. I pray Nintendo of America brings this out to us.

    The Nintendo Direct trailer showed off more gameplay and in-game mechanics. It looks like FE with a bit of SRW style skill system/add-on. While still play the same, it feel fresh for some reason. I am hyped. :D

      I will get excited when I hear the news of this being localized….or Nintendo banishing forever the region lock.

      Paid DLC…I can take it.
      A time diferrence between the japanese release and the US release.. I can take it.
      This game not getting localized….this shall not stand.

    Everything about this looks fantastic. If I were to ever get a 3DS, this would be the reason. I wouldn’t give it a second thought. I haven’t had a nice long Fire Emblem session in so long.

    Attack animations look cool. I hope the critical animations look insane, like Soethe’s. But what I really want is news of support conversations. Huu huu huu. Starving Ilyana made me laugh.

      Preety much. The game looks great (aside from the really fruity-looking female character), but the whole “paid DLC” thing kind of sours the whole thing.

      Oh well, if this game ends up getting localised, chances are that it will come out in NA/Europe some time after its Japanese release. In such a case, we might get lucky and the DLC will come included.

    if the player’s armies can doubleteam opponents, can enemies in turn doubleteam my armies? Cause that would suck.
    also i dont like how they are making the battle animations look so fluid and making the map units so sprite-y, since I never ever watched the battles in previous FE games and dont intend to start now on battery-strained system.

    but other than those specific questionable design choices
    i am just super excited that this game exists at all

    if they don’t release this in America………..well, let’s just say another Operation Rainfall inspired Group might end up demanding it, especially after the success it had if not Rainfall themselves.

    The assist attacks gonna bring a new layer of tactic depth to the once 1vs1 battles. But the lvl up system seems a bit weird, theres not stats like usual :O. This is really exciting, I can’t wait for a stateside release 8D !

    Best case scenario: Extra challenge maps and side quests that extend the game’s value.

    Bad case scenario: Purchasing troops that give you an extra edge during battle.

    Worst case scenario: A character died? Pay $2 to revive!

    Wow I love the battle animations though I do hope they allow you to shorten it or have a “quick attack” mode that bypasses the animation due to to them being quite lengthy.

      Well, you should be able turn off the battle animations altogether but then you’ll just be looking at sprites (ones I’m not particularly fond of) attacking each other w/weapons and magic.

        I do admit it’s a selfish request for me and it won’t be a deal breaker if you have to watch it all the time.

        Lol I do somewhat wish the attacks would do multiple hits (even if it was a visual thing) and a combo counter would appear :D

          No, it’s not selfish at all. The games go much faster with the battle animations off. This is great if you’re doing a speed run or level grinding in some monster filled tower or something.

          Well, enemies do counter, and depending on the situation, you can hit an enemy more than once. I hope they keep the skills from the console games like Astra.

          Hm, it’s usually an option you can adjust so perhaps it is possible in this game as well. I know for a fact that the GBA games let you turn animations off and on. I’d don’t see how asking for an option is selfish although I prefer to leave animations on because I like watching all the flashy stuff. xD

    Please don’t tell me this is a new continent/saga that’s debuting in the 3DS.  I feel we’re gonna miss out on the Judgral (sp?) saga. >_<

    Anyone noticed that the OST of this Fire Emblem shaping up to be a masterpiece?
    Loved the music used in the last part of the trailer when showing actual gameplay Footage <3

    Still can’t get enough of the graphics in this game. I seem to be always comparing it with videos of Ragnarok Odyssey for the Vita :D
