Real Bout Fatal Fury Brings The Fight To Wii Virtual Console

Virtual Console for Wii is still alive and kicking in Japan with games like Real Bout Fatal Fury coming next month.

Beating down Geese Howard costs 900 Wii Points, the same price as Sengoku 2 another downloadable NeoGeo slated for release in January 2012.

Konami also has Ganbare Goemon 2, a 500 point Famicom game from the Legend of the Mystical Ninja series, on the Virtual Console queue too.

They should make a full fledged 3D remake online co-op beat em up of Fatal Fury for HD consoles

SNK’s attempts to make 3D sequelsspin-offs of their beat’em up series have been mostly disappointing, from Fatal Fury Wild Ambitions to Samurai Spirits Warrior’s Rage, or Samurai Spirits Sen (personally I liked KoF Maximum Impact, but I would never want to see it instead of 2D games like 13).
I say it’s better for them to avoid 3D altogether and focus on what they can do best, because KoF13 shown they are still able to create 2D masterpieces.

Though I say they keep making these bad 3D games because they are practicing and improving the skills in order to make great 3D games. Never hurts to keep trying. They are getting better IMO, as Samurai Showdown Sen is one of the best so far (again IMO).

I'm with Ladius though, SNK is best known for 2D and in the sea of 3D I think they stand out more keeping tradition.

It got cancelled who knows why maybe cuz it was stupid but SNK doesn’t need to go the 3D route with their games (unless its the Maximum Impact games which are alright but i rather have the same old stuff)

Real Bout and Sengoku 2 for PSN please. Sengoku 2 is a damn fine beat-em-up, and a fairly under the radar one that a lot of people missed. Real Bout is one of SNK’s more creative fighters, and a personal favorite of mine.
As for 3D… no thanks. KOF MI Reg. A was decent, but given a choice I’ll go with KOF XIII any day. Would much rather see them leverage that engine for a new 2D Garou or Samurai game, as opposed to getting stuff like Samurai Spirits Sen (which I think is downright awful).
