Drakengard Characters Appear As Lord Of Vermilion Re:2 CameosReleased back in 2003, Drakengard was Square Enix’s first action RPG with Cavia. The PlayStation 2 game centered around Caim, an angst ridden protatognist who despises dragons for killing his parents. And… forming a pact with a dragon to save his life is one of the first things Caim does in the game.

 

Caim will appear in Lord of Vermilion Re: 2, an arcade game from Square Enix with characters from Nier, BlazBlue, and even The King of Fighters series. Arioch is also seen as a character in the arcade game.

 

Lord of Vermilion Re: 2 will also have characters from the manga series Archenemy and Hero. Both will be added in a future update.

    These kind of cross-overs are fun and all… but am I the only one who would like to see them happen in Kingdom Hearts? If only for how COMPLETELY inappropriate Caim would be in an environment like that. I suppose I am just cruel, but I think it would be hilarious to see Sora react to Caim fighting heartless by like, stomping on their heads and cutting them up in tiny pieces. And then have Caim’s dragon tell Sora what a naive and stupid little boy he is.

    I mean, I know- I know that EVERYTHING EVER about Caim is completely against everything Kingdom Hearts stands for, just like everything ever about Sora is against Drakengard… but that is WHY I want it to happen. Does anyone else feel like this?

        And then, to be EXTRA horrible- Sora tries to befriend Arioch and Leonard. If you know who they are and what they’re like… well, you will know why leaving a young, innocent boy around either of them is a MAXIMUM terrible idea.

        Although honestly, I can see Donald and Arioch trying to set each other on fire, and Goofy with all his sage insight talk to Leonard for like… five minutes, then look at Leonard looking at Sora, and then his eyes just go wide and he suddenly has to be somewhere else. Near Sora. Never, ever, EVER taking his eyes of him or letting Leonard within fifteen feet of him.

          Sora should also never get distracted unless he ends up eating GENOCIDE CUTTAH. (If Rugal’s in this game.)

            … A Mass Effect is fine too. Although now I’m imagining Goofy showing Wrex baby-pictures of Max. It is unexpectedly adorable, even if Wrex would probably be jealous ;_;

            Or, wait, I forgot- is Wrex a daddy or is he affected by the Genophage as well? It’s been a while since I played the first one.

            every Krogan is infected with the genophage, making only 1 in 1000 survive being born.

            some young are born (a Krogan on Tuchanka in Mass Effect 2 talks about his son), but its not common.

      I NEED THIS TO HAPPEN. Sephiroth would look ridiculously good at Caim’s side.

      If KH had more levels devoted to kill flying babies, I’d buy it ON DAY ONE!

        Caim and his dragon fighting an army of giant baby heartless… being LED by Sephiroth (because let’s not fool ourselves here, Sephiroth doesn’t want to co-operate with anyone who can get a bigger kill-count than him). This could SO be a thing that could happen.

        Also, I for one would like Kairi to meet Furiae and try to get the poor girl some therapy. They can bond over being damsels in distress shoved to the side, even if Furiaes situation is a million times worse because at least Kairi is not in constant pain and Sora and Riku aren’t her brothers.

    No just give me a Drakengard seque!l Those games very twisted and evil, your traveling companions are crazy  as hell. The enemies you face go from soldiers to giant babies!

        I think he meant true Drakengard 3, the second installment leaves a very interesting plot point to explore.

      Children? but he didn’t kill Manah… (a thoroughly good decision come Drakengard 2). 

      If you mean “that” babies, I dunno if they could count as one and it’s not canon anyway.

        iirc there was a scenario in drakengard 1 where you just had Caim slaughtering greenhorn child soldiers (not the grotesquerie babies)

            Ohh I kinda remember that one, iirc I was too busy completing requirement to get the weapon there to really notice them.

            It’s NieR canonical since it comes from Ending E and to get it you have to play them.

            it has been stated that Nier is based on non canonical ending, only canon ending is the ending with Angelous getting sealed.

            @Vatiel:  But that’s only if you’re looking at it as the prequel to Drakengard 2. Nier is a sequel that plays off of Ending E, whereas Drakengard 2 plays off of Ending A.

    I really wish arcades hadn’t all but died off here in the US.  I would love to play the Lord of Vermillion games. :< I'd be in the arcade every weekend at the very least, if we got this here.

    Kinda want to see Nowe only because they’d have Caim and Nowe fight.

    I think the Japanese title Drag-on Dragoon is more fitting.  It’s like Dynasty Warriors.  The gameplay “drags on” as soon as you start.

    i’d like a HD bundle of Drakengard 1 and 2……and removing some of the censorship in the first, cause they censored some stuff that was relevant to the story.

    Oh, how I miss Drakengard. Pity I never got to play the second one (it was bought, but it never showed up). Makes me wish SE would toss it to Bluepoint for the HD treatment.

    It’d also be nice if they put together a portable Lord of Vermillion. I’d enjoy that tons, I think (I mean, those Yu-Gi-Oh games were fun for a while).
