Classic Tamagotchi Without Carrying A Plastic Egg

Clearly inspired by Tamagotchi, Hatchi for iOS devices is a throwback to simpler times. Times when a "pet sim" had players press a few buttons to feed their pet and clean its cage. Portable Pixels, Hatchi’s developer, even used pixel art to recreate the feel of owning a Tamagotchi. All you need are annoying push notifications and you’ve got something close to the real thing.

Namco Bandai branched Tamagotchi out of the pet simulation genre years ago and created mini-game collections with the characters like Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop.

Hatchi is available now for $0.99 on the iTunes App Store.
