Final Fantasy Versus XIII Has A 7:3 Ratio Of Real Time To Pre Rendered ScenesFamitsu magazine has a tiny feature on Final Fantasy Versus XIII. No, we don’t have a release date yet. Tetsuya Nomura spoke with the magazine promising even better graphics than trailers last year. Real time rendering, Nomura says, have vastly improved.

 

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will still have pre-rendered cutscenes from Square’s CG movie division Visual Works. The ratio will be 7:3 (real time : pre-rendered) and Nomura says pre-rendered scenes wont interfere with controlling the game. That’s one of the reasons why the the scene when Noctis meets Stella was changed to a pre-rendered cutscene.

 

The next time the public sees Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Nomura plans to show the game running on actual hardware.

      I read on another site (novacrysalis) that we most likely wont be seeing this for a few more year, in terms of localization.

        I doubt that. Considering how snappy SE was with XIII/XIII-2′s localization, I’m doubtful that would occur. SE knows that more than just their Japanese audience has been anticipating this. They won’t do that.

    Glad to see some news on this. We may not be seeing it for a while, but that’s fine, if anything, I don’t want to see this game released quick to please fans, I want it done right so all the hype is worth it :)

    Some of you guys act like this is the only game on Earth. Sure, you have to wait, and sure, you may not be hyped. Just forget about the game and occupy yourself with other games. The game will come out. It’s not like they’re scrapping it or anything. I’m pretty sure it won’t be the Gran Turismo of Final Fantasies. (in terms of “they could have done this in less time”)

      Lol I don’t think it’ll be all that either. For one thing, they’re trying really hard to make it look extra pretty.

      Seriously. People throw out all of the other long-awaited games that have come out in the meanwhile, so why don’t they go be happy those are out and forget about this til it’s ready?

    This game was announced in like 2006, right? I was 14 when it was announced. Now I’m 19 going on 20. Ridiculous.

          I’m 19 and am not currently seeing anyone, but I wager I’ll be married with kids on the way by the time KH3 comes out :P,the way things are going and judging by the the comments above me so will u guys lol.

    The wait for Agito (Type-0) paid off, so I’m sure this is going to be incredible. Thankfully, I have my other long awaited game coming in the meanwhile. Take your time Nomura, P+’s Rising will keep me occupied.

    In Nomura I trust. Seems he’s the only guy left at SE to have a clear focus and vision for his games.
