Speaking Of Steins;Gate, Here’s Kurisu In A Fighting Game

While we’re waiting for JAST, 5pb, and Nitroplus to make a decision about bringing Steins;Gate, Kurisu Makise will learn some English for Phantom Breaker. She’s one of the playable characters in the 7sixty published Xbox 360 game. This video shows her fighting fellow visual novel lead character Rimi Sakihata from Chaos;Head.

 

 

7sixty have Phantom Breaker slated for release on Xbox 360 in early 2012.

      Hallo~ (she always answers the phone like that >8D) She was born in japan then went to the US so she isnt exactly from america… But yeah, she is supposedly pro in reading and speaking

        Well, not many seiyuu are fluent in Eng, so we just gotta overlook that.. I remember Asuka’s bad German in EVA *.*..

        I don’t like how Kurisu looks in this art style though.. the glowing stick for weapon was a nice touch :)

          Haha xD cristina pwnz, and yeah!, its really weird when they try to talk bad japanese since their character comes from america but when they talk in english is 100 times worst xD i remember a galge that was like that… Yup! i remembered, it was memories off 7 xD, really awesome galge tho… T-T

            Yeah, that scene was funny, Okarin kept getting hung up and then switched to ultra polite keigo lol..

            Okarin probably speaks better English than Kurisu, total classic :),

    Somehow seeing a character with my name (and in a Japanese spelling version of it) in a fighting game is so cool! (>w<)/

    So that's how they say "Chris" in Japanese… very close to the English name! I wonder why they decided to call her Kurisu? As far as I know Kurisu is consider a family name and very rare for a first person name, especially for someone born in Japan. Truth be told I haven't see or read the other VN games or Steins;Gate but I want too.

    Kurisu looks so cool fighting someone with giant twin swords with only a… stick I think? ^_^
    I'm sad she didn't win, it was a close fight.

    This is coming out for the US? I haven't heard of this game before.

      Her name is 牧瀬紅利栖 (Makise Kurisu), Makise could be a normal last name, but Kurisu is more of a made-up anime name, especially how the kanji are written.  Chris would be written as “クリス” in Jpn.  In the game, the main character Okabe just teases Kurisu by calling her all sorts of funny nicknames, like Christina (since she came back from the US), the Zombie, genius hentai girl, the girl who loves experiment, Celeb 17, etc :)

      Yes, this fighting game w/ cameo of Kurisu (Steins;Gate) and Rimi (Chaos;Head) will be released on 360 in the US later.

        So the “紅利栖” part is Kurisu? Interesting take on it.
        Also I’m a boy, but I’ve got a nickname called by my uncle that is “Christina” and my other family members call me different nicknames.

        And why is Kurisu called “Genuius Hentai Girl” as one of her nicknames? >:/And good to know about the US release date! By the way I was trying to access Wikipedia to learn more and found out it’s being blacken out due to SOPA and PIPA which could cause the site to be taken down and Wikipedia is requesting their readers to help out. I really don’t like where this is going… I’ll try to see if there’s anything I can do to protect Wikipedia. People are free to learn, right? And Wikipedia is a site to provide that information for people to learn.

        I’ll stop there.

          No prob :) Yeah, Kurisu is a unique and made-up name.. It’s funny Okabe calls her anything but Kurisu and she would be like “I’m not a zombie, Tina is forbidden too”. Once he introduced her as Christina and people thought she was a westerner :) He only calls her by her real name when he’s deadly serious.

          He made up all the nicknames for various reasons (like “The Zombie” is obvious if you’ve seen ep 1). Because Kurisu is a genius and alrdy has her research published despite her young age. Sometimes Daru and Okabe (self-proclaimed “hentai gentlemen”) joke and say suggestive things, and when Kurisu takes the bait, Okabe teases her for thinking dirty :)

          Yeah, the SOPA & PIPA thing is really something, seems like a very broad law, probably won’t pass.. On one hand I don’t want censorship and not being able to share information, but I don’t condone blatant piracy either (like people who d/l games, movies, and manga for free) and enjoyed the good stuffs w/o spending a dime.. Piracy is a concern, from what I heard this law is too broad and would have immense consequences..

            Still better safe than sorry, right? I hate to see this thing pass, I like viewing like the latest chapters in a manga series I like that hasn’t been released yet in the US or a manga never being published overseas or a manga series being dropped altogether in the US. If I like it I try to buy it and if I have the original copy and want to play on my PC I just plop in the disc and there I go!

            That’s why I imported Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix+… now if I could ONLY play it! Damn whoever stolen my Japanese PS2 years ago before I got this game!That’s interesting to know… the name Kurisu is a real name but the spelling is completely made-up which is cool. You hardly see any important characters, especially Japanese anime/manga, having a character called “Chris/Kurisu” even if the spelling is made-up.

          You, Okabe Rintaro, sir, are awesome :)  Hm about the spin-off.. I was excited at first, but personally I don’t think it was as good as I had expected.. the chars just weren’t as funny as the main game, their personalities were all a little off.. especially Okarin.. I dunno, I still need to finish the game, I only got 3 endings out of 6 (Kurisu the default first ending was pretty good, Shining Finger’s was pretty good, didn’t like the Mayuri one).. one major let down though was the illustration were pretty subpar… and not much new music either..  even if you skip it you’re not missing much..

          I’m getting this drama CD though, they look so cute :)

            Aw, lol but still, just hearing okarin’s and labo members voice on my earphones again will calm my el psy congroo spirit xD.

            As on the music part i didnt expect new music lke on the chaos;head one… actually, i kind of like it when it has the same OST, i feel im playing the original game again, and feel all wishi washy xD

            In chaos;head the romantic game was really good, especially since its a direct sequel of the first game, and they tried some cool stuff as getting into one of the heroine’s perspective and hear whas she thinks and whatnot, ialways like that stuff, the game isnt that long sadly…

            And lol chibis xD

            yeah, I gotta get back to Hiyoku renri no Darlin.. they rearranged some original music a bit and there’s some new music, but it’s pretty sappy.. I still haven’t finished Chaos;Head yet, only on Chapter 5 or something, and saw like 2 eps of the anime :)

            Haha, chaos;head was awesome, but it seems it really depends on the person with that game, S;G was more for everyone, the reason ppl didnt liked C;H is because of the MC, you surely know that already, i found him to be nice, i mean, liked him lol, and his way of talking was sick and funny xD. Hope you can FINALLY finish it someday!

    Man if only she was in a better fighting game as this game looks very sluggish.  Why don’t they go to the developers that made arcana hearts.  Oh well I would get this but it being on 360 means I won’t have it till a lot later.
