By Spencer . January 18, 2012 . 12:48pm

Shifting World, Aksys Black And White Puzzle Platformer, Is Coming In AprilAksys picked up the rights to publish Shifting World on the Nintendo 3DS. The Flash game has been redesigned with a new art style and puzzles where you switch between 2D and 3D. The core mechanic is still flipping between white and black changing the “ground” you’re standing on. If you haven’t played Shift before try it here.

Shifting World will be released as a $29.99 retail game on April 24, an Aksys representative shared with Siliconera. That’s the North American release date. Shifting World will also be released in Japan under the name Shifting World: The Labyrinth of Black in White sometime in April.

    I like the monochrome style.

The art style reminds me of another flash game, called Cardboard Box Assembler. Actually, it’s not really similar at all. But it’s very geometric, just like this.

I love black and white stuff. High contrast for pow!

Uh, the game is in English. Not sure why these screenshots are in…French. Although it does make it look classy and intellectual.

Well, now I sure look silly.

You were just trying to be elegant and prestigious. :D

        English-language screenshots are so 2011.

hopefully they make some clever use of the 3D ala Pushmo or something…. regardless, I love Shift, and the cheap (at least compared to other games) price tag is really tempting me…
