New LovePlus uses augmented reality so you can bring your virtual girlfriend out in the real world. It’s kind of like being on a date at… a Konami store?!

Trivia time: Nene Anegasaki is sitting at the moai statue, a place where people wait for friends at Shibuya Station that’s less busy than the Hachiko.

Is this only pre-rendered promotional material, or can the game detect which areas are surfaces (to sit/lean on, etc.)?

It might just be promotional material, I think, or at the very least, it isn’t real time. If you notice near the end, the people in the background aren’t even moving.
Thinking about it, it makes me wonder about the AR features and how limited it will be…

That would make sense. Automatic surface detection would cost a lot of effort to get right; for the very least, it’ll cost way beyond practical budget for a video game.

I refuse to buy any more @Konami games until they bring us Love Plus! We need to starve companies until they HAVE to release these games! Not localizing Love Plus is a great dishonor to the creators and voice talents who made this wonderful gaming experience!
