Final Fantasy Dimension And More Fortune Street From Square Enix?

By Spencer . January 22, 2012 . 10:07pm

Final Fantasy Dimension And More Fortune Street From Square Enix?Square Enix may be developing another branch on the ever growing Final Fantasy family tree. The publisher filed a trademark for Final Fantasy Dimensions in Japan for use with video games and related media in Europe. As of now, Square Enix has not announced Final Fantasy Dimensions. They haven’t announced Bravely Default for the West either. Could Final Fantasy Dimensions will be the international name for Bravely Default: Flying Fairy or will this title be used for a new game?

It appears Square Enix has future plans for Fortune Street too. They also filed a trademark for Fortune Street Smart, which kind of sounds like a Fortune Street game for smartphones. I suppose Square Enix could port Itadaki Street Mobile, which has cutesy Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest characters for iOS and Android.

Meanwhile, Square Enix Europe is also getting in on trademarking too. Sleeping Dogs was registered by Square Enix London. Might be a new Kane & Lynch title since the last game was Kane & Lynch: Dog Days.

My bets go to Final Fantasy Dimensions being a new title. But I don’t know…yet.
Might be best for me to wait for further info.
But the latter seems likely. Who knows?

Could be Theatrhythm in the West too.

Makes sense. If it’s not a new game, my money is also on Theatrhythm’s international name. :3

I really doubt bravely default will be called final fantasy dimensions in the west,i shudder just thinking about it :/

Well, Bravely Default was conceived as a sequel to Final Fantasy: 4 Heroes of Light and the whole “Dimensions” bit is a very 3DS-like name.

It also sounds like some sort of crossover game though. If it weren’t for Dissidia I’d probably guess a fighting game of some kind.

FF Dimensions made me think of Tales of Radiant Mythology. With FF characters. And a dark story. Or a Kingdom Hearts minus the Disney, and just full of the FF worlds.

Then I remembered it was the real world.

It’s probably a new IP. Just because renaming some of the stuff we know they’re coming out with to FF Dimensions seems really stupid…

Maybe Final Fantasy Dimensions is that Final Fantasy mobile game that was released in chapters like FFIV: The After Years. It focused on light and dark, and had a job system.

    Its Final Fantasy: Inception. lol

Hearing the name ‘Final Fantasy Dimensions’ made me immediately think its a spin-off without a number in it. Since this was filed not long ago, I had to guess PSVita. 3DS has FF Theatrhythm and Vita has just released with SE announced they remake FFX for not specifically the Vita also the PS3…

    I dunno… We’ll wait and see…

I wouldn’t mind Bravely Default being renamed; though I also wouldn’t mind another tradtional RPG on the 3DS; free of Tidus. . . so I can dig either option~

perhaps it’s a tales of the world style crossover rpg for the 25th
    anniversary?

He has a point in a sense. They milked far too long FF franchise. SE thinks everything will sell if it has FF name on it. You are not George Lucas, and this is not Star Wars for God’s sake. What’s next? Final Fantasy Skateboard? Final Fantasy Guitar Hero? Final Fantasy Soccer?

Square is, sadly, very much right about plastering the FF name to anything and still making a profit.  I guess it’s also a generational thing. Most of the people i know who started playing in the nes/snes days stopped caring about the franchise since the psone/ps2 days.

Also, seems i touched a nerve with someone. If you don’t care about my comment you can just, you know, ignore it. Or am i forced to join the party? After a lousy mediocre game like FF13, and a broken MMORPG, all i can say is: no thanks, bro.

Equally, if you don’t care about an announcement you can just, you know, ignore it. There are any number of stories on this site that I couldn’t give a monkey’s about; I just click the back button and check out something I care more about. It’s the whole reason I don’t click on stories about the Pokemon/Nobunaga crossover, I can’t think of anything worse but there are people looking forward to it so I leave them to it.

Don’t involve yourself in stuff that you’re not going to be positive about, you’ll feel much better. No one’s forcing you to join this party, we’re having too much fun without you :)

Yeah, I’m thinking that Final Fantasy Dimensions is perhaps the western name for Bravely Default.

Oh god, this is Final Fantasy Legend and Final Fantasy Adventure all over again, isn’t it?

The new title sounds interesting and conjures a lot of possibilities, but then it won’t mean a single thing until Squeenix undoes the damage they did to Aya Brea and Parasite Eve by making and releasing 3rd Birthday. :)

I think Final Fantasy Dimensions will be a remake of Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II. That would be interesting.

What happened to Chocobo Racing 3DS? I loved it on PS1, and got all excited when I heard of the 3DS versioPr

  • ShadowWolf
