Shadow, One Of Game Republic’s Unreleased Projects, Unveiled

By Spencer . January 25, 2012 . 5:42pm

Genji developer Game Republic closed their last year with Knights Contract as their final game. The studio was full of promise when Yoshiki Okamoto opened it. Sony Computer Entertainment signed a deal with Game Republic to create Genji and Microsoft hired the studio to make the Xbox 360 launch game Every Party. After releasing Folklore, Brash Entertainment gave Game Republic the rights to work with a Hollywood movie, which ended up being Clash of the Titans. Namco Bandai picked up the game and Game Republic’s other titles after Brash Entertainment dissolved.

Some time in between Game Republic was working on a project called Shadow. It’s unclear how far along Shadow was, but the studio collaborated with NCA Works to create a hero and futuristic background art. Here’s a look at what could have been if Game Republic stayed afloat.
