Fight Pyramid Head With Friends In Silent Hill: Book Of Memories

Fight Pyramid Head With Friends In Silent Hill: Book Of Memories

While Silent Hill: Shattered Memories removed combat from Konami’s horror game series, WayForward made it the focus of Silent Hill: Book of Memories. The PlayStation Vita title lets four players team up and fight horrors from Silent Hill.

The game has monsters like faceless nurses, the Butcher from Silent Hill: Origins and of course Pyramid Head.

Another interesting tidbit comes from a Dengeki PlayStation article. You can choose the protagonist’s gender in the beginning of Silent Hill: Book of Memories. This changes the characters that accompany you and the story.

Silent Hill: Book of Memories comes out in North America on March 27.

Seriously, this game looks terrible IMO, it just totally loses the SH vibe, just use the brand name. And sadly i bet this game will get better feedback than SH4. I at least will pass this one

Wayforward tend to make good portable games. I will give this game a shot. People can not judge it without even seen much of the game in action or not have even played a demo (if one arrives).

Good 2d portable games, not 3d. Stick to what you know.

Focusing on combat? That’s a weird thing to focus on in a Silent Hill game… I’m sure having a multiplayer horror game could work, but this one’s looking like a train wreck of elements so far. They’re going to have to really push the atmosphere in order to glue this all together.

In a lonely place like Silent Hill, people would want to huddle together, I guess.

I just ask myself to which audiences they’re actually trying to go for this one? The Silent Hill fans in general don’t seem like the type to embrace this. Well, I’m speaking for myself perhaps but it just seems like the exact opposite of what I’d expect from a SH game.

It’s not just you, i’m a hardcore SH fan and i’m totally uninterested in it, my borthers and parents (yeah lol they are gamers too, in fact they introduced me to SH1) are also uninterested in it, we palyed all since SH1, i even rebought it in PSN to play it on my PSP.

    • JustThisOne

I dunno. Maybe this game is made for people who want to play a multiplayer horror game, but have not touched a Silent Hill game before. Silent Hill’s got a reputation for being scary at least.

    • jujubee88

I have only played “Silent Hill: Origins” on the PSP and some sprinklings of SH1 and SH2.

The franchise means squat to me if the game is good. Nintendo just announced another Mario game. I could care less about Mario but, if it is going to be good I will have fun. If it is a bad Mario game, I will not buy it.

The target audience is gamers; deeper than that people who want to have fun with their PS Vita’s.

Some of us like to be more demanding with the games we buy, even when you are fan of a franchise that doesn’t equall jumping over the first thing video game companies throw at consumers.

  • eliel

not the biggest fan of SH(until i get the hd collection :3) but this looks interesting i would like to try a demo/rent 1st b4 buying though

dam, by one side, it’s Silent Hill!
by another side, I would prefer for the franchise to die with the dignity it has left.
Yeah sure, it could be a good shooter like thingy, I don’t think it’s the way to go for the franchise.

I’m sad to see what was once an amazing (if not the best) horror game to exist, reduced to something thats not even the shadow of what it was. I could be wrong, and this could be a good horror game thats deserve the name Silent Hill while offering multy player. Will know when it’s out.

    Le sigh*

This series jumped the shark a long time ago and just kept flying. With this entry it is officially jumping moon sharks.

Wayforward has made some pretty fun games, I doubt they’d stop now.

Maybe they are trying to copy Resident Evils move with Co-op and more action like? Which although sells, fails.

It could use a little more work but i guess it’s too late…

    Not really Silent Hill…
but I’ll wait till I see the reviews of it.

Guys, please don judge a game be4 it reach your hands….

After all, I for one doesn’t mind to hv a second player stay by my side to save my @$$ from those monsters.

    • d19xx

True. Tomb Raider the Guardian of Light also got the same flak from fans when it was announced, it turned out to be one of the best games in the TR franchise.

I’ll wait and see how Wayforward handles this.

Problem is, this franchise has been on the dump for quite some time now, with mediocre games like Homecoming leaving a big stain. The rehash of enemies, and pointless multiplayer, doesn’t help this one. Konami doesn’t care about the franchise anymore, and it shows.

  • Strain42

Focusing on combat? Bringing back a bunch of old enemies? Is anyone else already popping the popcorn for Yahtzee to tear this game a new one?
