two of the worst kingdom hearts games in a package.

    • Jacob Denton

Yep. But they were also 2 good DS games. Each had their good points. It’s an objective fact that the world needs more multiplayer KH. So I’m content with that either way.

That aside, I do hope to see updated ports and whatnot reasonably soon! Need an HD Kingdom Hearts 1+2 in my life.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Pedro-Furtado/100001762518457 Pedro Furtado

An objective fact. How is that an objective fact?

        • Jacob Denton

This may surprise you, but it’s actually not. :o I was making use of hyperbole to emphasis that multiplayer Kingdom Hearts is an awesome thing.

I’ll readily admit that it could have been better. But it was good fun as it was and I would like to see more.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1769064526 Vivian Mai

The world doesn’t need poorly implemented multiplayer KH. It would be nice to have a nicely implemented multiplayer KH. But it’s not a necessity.

        Wasn’t even a good use of multiplayer…

    • http://www.facebook.com/Zekushion Dylan Anantha

Birth By Sleep’s battle system and first half of its storyline says hi.

      • Gatchaman1

What does that have to do with this

        • http://www.facebook.com/Zekushion Dylan Anantha

Those parts I mentioned I found terrible. Especially BBS’s battle system.

          • Gatchaman1

And once again I ask what the hell does that have to do with a Nintendo package deal

  • http://www.genkaibreak.com Code

Woah, kind of hard to believe it’s been 10 years >o>’

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_Q6NXXGMO5XNSMJ64NIHYHFP56A Vince

10 years, and still epic as ever. Congrats, Sora and co.

Kinda miss Billy Zane as Xehanort from the very first game, though.

  • XypherCode

    I want that anniversary box…….
    …….so bad :)

Even though I already played those 2 DS games xD

  • http://www.facebook.com/VirusChris Christopher Nunes

Wow… has it been 10 year already? Didn’t seem like it… it feels like Kingdom Hearts was my childhood for all these years. I’m glad this series will so well-received even though I was skeptical at first I’m glad I tried it out.

Anyone I already have those two KH DS games and I enjoy them greatly and love the story for both of them (I’m a sucker for stories) and I can’t wait to get my hands on KH: DDD for my 3DS!

  • http://eee.am/Sorans Sorans

not interested by the 10th anniversary box, but I’ll most likely get the KH Edition *w*

I thought it’d be more expensive, I’m so happy :3

  • brian yep

    “15,00 yen”
    hmm

    • http://twitter.com/keithmaxx keithmaxx

These guys really need to pull their editing act together.

      • SuigetsuHiramura

Siliconera editors are people too ya know ;)  They tend to make mistakes some times.

    • cj_iwakura

I’d buy it at a low price.

  • D K

To be perfectly honest, I was hoping for re-releases of KH, KH2 and Re:CoM, possibly BBS. It makes sense having the games you can play on a 3DS released together, but they are all relatively recent and this package is..expensive.

Doesn’t help Nomura’s statement that they want to make the series easier to get into if they ignore the original games, either :/

  • Dantis

Did not like the DS iterations at all. Even if you ignore the phoned-in storyline, the blocky level design was terrible.

  • poisui

Considering how pricey the package is, this is something that will appeal to collectors more than others.

  • neetyneety

I’ll buy it…. but only for KH3D and the postcards…. ALL FOR THE POSTCARDS— I mean, KH3D. (damn, they should’ve included that Wonder Nyan plush…. would have made it an insta-buy for me at ANY price)

  • darkfox1

Jeez why are 3DS games so much in Japan?

    • http://twitter.com/VietKnight Alexander Le

No its just the USD value compare to yen is bad so that it dropped from 98.001 yen to 77.101 yen to 1 USD within a year. But back to subject want it if it comes stateside since I was tempted to buy Re-coded for a while but never did.

      • darkfox1

        wow……

  • Herok

seeing as these are jp prices i am going to assume the price would drop to around $80 for the U.S., which would be good since i want the cover and don’t have recoded which i would leave in the plastic so it would be worth something later if it has special box art

  • http://twitter.com/zerozshadow_ Miles Ma

WHERE IS MY KH1+2 HD PS3 RE-RELEASE? MANY RQ SQUENIX. MANY THE RQ.

  • RaikageV

Is $79 a normal price for 3DS games in America? Sounds kinda expensive.

    • http://twitter.com/DanijoEX DanijoEX

Not really. They really don’t go past $40 (which is the standard price). Most can be $79 if they’re like editions of some sort. But someone can explain it better.
But that’s what I think, at least.

    • takopako

no, games are just more expensive in Japan, since their economy and standard of living are completely different than ours. at most, it may be $50.

      • http://twitter.com/SilverGeneral Sephiroth

Yeah, stuff is WAY more expensive over here if you’re thinking in dollars. I’ve been here long enough that looking at my bank statement in USD confuses me, but I can still look at electronics and calculate how much money I’d be throwing down the drain if I adopted a Japanese product. A new 3DS in Japan costs 15,000 yen, which is floating right around $200, and that’s after the price cuts the 3DS has been receiving. Differences in price between American and Japanese Vitas was even more embarrassing ($249 Wi-Fi model = $325 after conversion in Japan).

Also, prices aren’t quite standardized across the country here. On the release weekend of Type-0, I saw price variations of over 1,000 yen from store to store in Tokyo. It’s not like in the States, where you get basically the same price (give or take $.11) on release weekend whether you buy at Wal-Mart, Gamestop, Target, Best Buy, etc. and where you shop is basically personal preference.

        • RaikageV

          Thanks for the explanation. ^-^

  • http://bmgf.bulbagarden.net/members/55321.html FinalArcadia

It’s a nice box idea, but I’m sure a lot of people already buying 3D have previously gotten 358/2 Days and Re:Coded. And I’m not sure a new fan wants to lay down that kind of money.

Although, to be honest, I think it’d be very appealing if there was a copy of the original GBA Chain of Memories in there. Re:CoM is great, but I’d love a chance to play the GBA version, since I missed it (…not like this box would ever be released in the West anyway, though…).

    • http://twitter.com/FaithlessMr Bruno Silva

That would be AWESOME, I love CoM! But 3DS owners would not be able to play it since there’s no GBA slot in the 3DS. I’m guessing they’re bundling these together because any 3DS owner can play them.

Now, they could release the game in Nintendo’s e-shop, as a downloadable GBA classic :P

      • http://www.fanfiction.net/u/601368/ Sharda Colon

        ^THIS SO MUCH!

Even though I still have my GBA copy (which still works surprisingly XD) I would LOVE for the digital copy on my 3DS to take it everywhere with me. That and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

      • http://bmgf.bulbagarden.net/members/55321.html FinalArcadia

Oh yeah, I forgot about the 3DS lacking backwards compatibility with the GBA… That’s one of my pet peeves about my DSi (and why I mainly only play on my DS Lite).

Downloadable would be a great way to rerelease CoM, though! There are so many great GBA games that need to be released on the eShop (to me, it’s the best handheld of all-time, tied with the PSP).

  • Raiu

So this is what they planned for the 10th anniversary of Kingdom Hearts that Nomura was hoping to do? I was hoping for something else.. like a ‘Remake of KH, KH2, BBS and Re:COM mixed together a.k.a “Kingdom Hearts Collection”‘…
    One can hope, right?

  • Gatchaman1

Hmm taking the easy way I out I see Nomura.

Still….one shouldnt be surprised. They probably realized that with the work they already have on their plate with Versus XIII, rebuilding the mess that was XIV, finishing up KH 3D, and now starting the HD project of FFX, there was no way they could rerelease KH1 & 2 International, plus RE: CoM in HD form this year without starting it months ago.
Let’s also not ignore the obvious fact that these games in this box here are all Nintendo made so prefect convenience for them. Not like Nomura would package KH 3D with a bunch of Sony made KH products.
    Maybe next time…

  • Jahred Down

My two LEAST favorite KH games in a bundle together. Oh joy….

  • http://www.facebook.com/juan.m.m.s.mdp Juan Manuel M. Suárez

Worst aniversary box ever, 358/2 Days was Ok fanservice and Re:Coded was arguably the worst entry in the series. They’d have been better off including OSTs from the other games (granted there’s a lot of rehashed content) or something instead of two game that nobody really cares to play~.

    • James Beatty

RE:coded the worst? i thought it was one of the top 3. The story sucked but it had an improved version of the BBS battle system. KH 2 is still the best though

      • http://www.facebook.com/juan.m.m.s.mdp Juan Manuel M. Suárez

You just answered your own question: “The story sucked”. Exactly, the story sucked. KH is an RPG before an action game, and nobody gives a damn about installments that contribute little to nothing to a plot that is so engrossing no matter how good the gameplay is~.

        • http://www.siliconera.com Ishaan

I think it’s the other way around. I highly doubt the majority of Kingdom Hearts fans even keep track of all the little story branches. At this point, I’m pretty sure KH is played because it’s a good game with great battle systems and nice music.

Watching the drama unfold and characters interact is obviously part of the appeal, but I doubt there are many people that understand everything that’s actually taking place and how it ties into the larger scheme of things.

          • http://www.facebook.com/juan.m.m.s.mdp Juan Manuel M. Suárez

I have my doubts about that. But even then, calling Re: Coded one of the top 3 is quite farfetched. Reviewers certainly seem to disagree with such a statement and having played both 358/2 Days and Re:Coded I feel the same way. Poor installments, and we don’t play a RPG just for the gameplay~.

          • http://twitter.com/Ted_xg198 Terence

I play em mainly for the story.

        • James Beatty

I like Kingdom hearts because of the gameplay. The story is a bonus in games. Gameplay should always come first.

      • Zack_Fair

Well RE:coded is not the best but i can’t say it has better graphics than BBS, Personally I’d like SquareEnix to make a different story line that some can follow once.

  • http://www.fanfiction.net/u/601368/ Sharda Colon

:/ I’m actually not impressed with this. It wouldn’t be much value to me, since I still have both re:Coded and Days, which I just recently got. The postcards sounds cool and the Protective cover with the Original cover sound alright I guess, but it’s bound to be uploaded online somewhere.

For the NA/EU release I’m hoping for the KH designed 3DS with the game and postcards. Will it kill S-E to throw in a hardbound artbook instead of postcards for the special edition of the game?

    Oh welp. :l

*stashes money away for the eventual Ulitimania release*

  • Boo

Is there going to be an HD collection for PS3?

    • MrRobbyM

I’d only want this if they add some higher res textures, trophies and include Re:CoM or an upscaled BbS :)

    • James Beatty

I imagine for wii u and ps3 if any

    • LiteIndigold

I heard rumors of one and hope you and they are right. I’d especially love it if they threw in some Final Mix(!), but I won’t get my hopes tooooo high.

  • SuigetsuHiramura

Is this all we’re getting for Kingdom Hearts’ 10th anniversery?  If so, I’m a bit disappointed.

  • MrRobbyM

I was expecting something better but this is okay, I guess. Seriously though, 10 years and there has only been two main entries, well, three if you count BbS. It’s about time they start on KH 3 :/

  • doctorpope181

    That’s it?.. smh Nomura trollin

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_TH54Q3FD6AAT5UXH3BDGLDQDFI Ronald

no thanks, I already have RE:coded and 358/2 Days.

  • http://www.themogblog.com/ Edward Walton

<.< At least you bastards got something. Metroid Anniversary and we got… Nothing.

  • Zonic505

Oh wow, that’s kind of coo….*sees that it’s almost 200*…OUCH. Maybe if it was about $125 or so, that would’ve been more reasonable.

Hopefully, we’ll see more 10 anniversary stuff.

  • http://myanimelist.net/profile/Kuronoa Kuronoa

Wow so much hate for the DS games, I didn’t play them yet but they cannot be worse than Chain of Memories can it?  That game gotten on my nerves and gave up on it, and I don’t mind other card hybrids (Baten Kaitos <3).

    • http://www.facebook.com/dreamydonno Ashley Carte

the ds games are MUCH MUCH better than the gameboy one, since they went from being flat to basically what the ps2 and psp systems games are like. :3 although, 358/2 days could use some better graphics, the other two have very good graphics and are really worth the buy. :D

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002653015523 Rebekah Rene Milligan

Chain of Memories was amazing. It was my entrance to the series, though, so I might be just a tad biased. But being honest, I liked it better than both of the D.S. games. And if I do get this whole thing, I think I will just sell the extra copies to GameStop.

  • http://www.facebook.com/shawn.dickenson1 Shawn SomethingOtaku Dickenson

way to much  its easyer to buy used copy’s

  • RablaAndrews

Everything about this is beautiful D=

Please come out in this box over heeerrrrreeee.

  • jose barrientos

plz plz japan let this come over here if u guys are geting this for your anniversary le this hit the us too when the game comes out for us

  • Solomon_Kano

Providing they both come west, the KH 3DS and this set will be MINE.

  • Masengan

Damn I thought by the time this game came to the states a new 3DS would’ve been announced… I guess I’m getting the console bundle if we get it here.

  • http://www.facebook.com/AshCrimsonTJL Theofratus ‘Geese’ Lester

Hope y’all understand Japanese.  ’Cause I doubt somethin’ like this’ll come to the States, Limited Edition bundle-wise.

    • http://www.facebook.com/dreamydonno Ashley Carte

in order to play it in the states, you have to have a japanese 3ds, because they stopped making things international or something like that, the english systems reading the jap games. anyways, even so, it’s just a cover for the system and the three games can easily be sold to get the english ones for the same price. but hopefully, it will be coming to the states.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002388782196 Ricky Contreras

Why would you even want it? Its not even worth it unless you dont have re:Coded and 358/2 Days.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Joachim-Varne/1640586412 Joachim Varne

Paying 197 for 3 games, two of them that’s around 20$ in the US now? No way. Buying them seperate will most likely cost under 100$.

  • Joanna

Already have the two DS games so this doesn’t interest me. LE console is nice though~ (But too expensive for me ;___;)

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Stephen-Buss/100000114422870 Stephen Buss

Will this limited edition bundle be released internationally with the LTD 3DS I hope XD
