Persona 4: The Ultimate In Mayonaka Arena Arrives In Arcades This MarchSticking to their spring release window, Arc System Works set early March as the release date for Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena. The fighting game includes the cast of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 plus Aigis, Mitsuru, and Akihiko from Persona 3.

Arc System Works tweaked the game from location test feedback and the final version supports NESiCA x Live.

Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena takes place two months after the events in Persona 4 where Teddie invites everyone to a tournament in the TV world. Index plan to release the game on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this summer.

Neeeeeeeed console version. I don’t know if I’ve ever been this excited about a fighting game.

  • Xerain

I can understand Atlus’s reasoning for no dual audio in their flag ship titles, but Japanese Dub is pretty much make or break for me buying this. English just wasn’t made for battle cries. This will be a game of constant battle cries.

Sure I could just import the Japanese version for PS3, as I’m sure there won’t be tons of story…. but I’m just not into fighting games enough to want to spend that much after factoring in the higher value of games in Japan, shipping, and the strong JPY vs USD.

English battle cry’s work fine in BB :/

        Compared to the japanese ones?

        • Luna Kazemaru

To most of the Japanese voices yes I founded Noel and Tao to be very annoying more then the english set. Not trying to start no silly sub vs dub war here but yeah it goes both ways from time to time.

        • Natat

I would say that the japanese dub of BB was actually rather average, but that’s just me.

      • neetyneety

Between Ragna’s english and japanese screaming, I prefer the english one. It just has more oomph to me.

      Really?  Are you serious?

    • ShadowWolf

why do so many people give a crap?

      really.

Aw, no words of secret or boss characters? :/

    • Sal

      They’re supposed to be a secret, y’know.

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown and Persona 4: Ultimate? BEST SUMMER EVER!

    • OneOkami

Those are exactly the two fighters I plan training hardcore on (may skip Continuum Shift Extend), especially Virtua Fighter 5.

  • M’iau M’iaut

At least Teddies invite for a tournament in the TV world seems legit. Compared to those continued invites to a tropical island tournament the DoA girls continue to get AND ACCEPT!

  • ShadowWolf

i don’t like many fighters (with Soul Calibur being a exception for some reason).

but for Persona? i’ll get it. hell, maybe it will become popular, and i’d love to have more story.

  • neetyneety

Hopefully they put Adachi in as a secret boss or something.

    • Kawashima

That would be kinda interesting.  Though they would have to explain how he would’ve escaped from jail.  He probably could have jumped into the tv when the guards werent paying attention.

  • caleb1993

This is definitely going to be an import for me over the summer. Hooray for region free PS3s! Anyways, this and (once I finally acquire it) Blazblue look like the fighters I’ll actually devote a ton of time into. Good job Arc System Works for making the coolest fighting games on the market.

Here’s hoping that the PS360 port won’t take long.
2012 is shaping up to be another great year for fighters.

Fighting games ain’t my cup of tea…but to hell with that! It’s P4!

  • Opn

i think it would be absolutely awesome if the protagonist from p3 is a secret character or the last boss and comes back…though i doubt it *sad panda face*

If the P3 Protagonist gonna be the last boss, them he will use messias, god hand and Salvation as especial (like Gill from SF III)

Confirm US release already….. sheesh do we hv to wait a few months after the game is released then only to get a confirmation then another few more months untl yhe game is release….

You know, a Tatsuya and Maya pairing wouldn’t hurt the game.

  • PrinceHeir

for those who want more gameplay videos :P

    can’t wait for this :P

KOFXIII, Blazblue and this are one of the few 2D HD fighting games this generation.

i hope in the near Future we can have Shin Megami Tensei Fighting game :P
