Sega is preparing a Shining Blade accessory set to launch along with the PSP game. For 3,129 yen ($40) you get a pouch with a changeable back cover plus eight reversible panels with character art from Tony Taka.

        Fyuria from Agarest Wars 1 used to have boobs, then the project lead looked at her design and told Sugano to remove the boobs.

            The thing is that Sugano only had to make Fyuria’s chest flat.  The rest of her design was basically kept intact.

            The funny thing was that, the moment I saw Fyuria’s face, I knew that she would be a pettanko.  I’m pretty sure that the project lead had the same idea.

            I also got both Idea Factory artists/designers to autograph my stuff.  :D

            The fact that she’s pretty much a silver haired Miku kinda means she’d need to be flat. Heck, if I remember right there was a DLC weapon, Super Scallion, statted almost perfectly for her just to complete the look. Might not have been in the first game, but it was in Zero for sure which, as a fun fact, makes the fact that Alice didn’t use daggers sad since she in a way IS Miku. Also, Fyuria’s not completely flat, she’s got a little bit of chest to her when it’s not being held down by that strap.

            Now, away from that random tangent and on the topic of the Shining Blade stuff. I haven’t been able to keep up with the games too well, evil evil Sega and their not exporting them, to know if there is a reason for this, but I see all of the Tears girls but Mao. WHY IS THERE NO MAO?! PSPs must have the option to be covered in adorable redheaded catgirls! T_T

            Silver haired twin tails go much further back than you imagine.

            As for Shining Blade and the lack of catgirls, when it comes to the girls that Tony designs, his most popular girls aren’t catgirls.  The most popular of Tony’s girls are usually elves.  Also, the full character list isn’t even done yet:

            I know that the hair color and general style go back further than that. However, the length (About halfway down the legs), width (Each tail almost as wide as the torso), and overall placement of the twin tails is decidedly very Miku-ish. It would only make sense then to use the same body type as well. And, as I mentioned, there’s a DLC weapon that is as it’s name says a scallion, in other words an Onion/Leek, that’s statted almost perfectly for her, not to mention it’s description mentions that it “is the accessory of choice for a certain pig-tailed idol singer”, it’s pretty clear what they were going for; An adorable homage. If that’s NOT what they were aiming for, then the similarity is kind of frightening.

            I will be deeply disappointed if they don’t acknowledge Mao in some way. In my mind she was one of the best characters in Tears. Though, that disappointment will never reach the levels of my disappointment at Sega’s refusal to export the games. >.>

            Yeah, she was supposed to be mid-sized or so, kind of like what Alice in Agarest Zero had.

            The other gem is that Sugano and the other Idea Factory designer at the panel wanted to make hentai games.  The manager who came with them was like, “Ahem, publicly… no.”

    Tony’s art is heart-pounding sexy as ever. I wonder if there’s any chance it’ll come as a pre-order bonus with some sort of Limited/Special Edition.

      It’d surely sond better as a bonus with a game than just buy on it’s own… Although I really like Tony Taka’s art anyway.

      Nice style… I guess, but all the girls in his drawings have the same face. Not saying his drawings are bad though.

      Nice grip on anatomy… Eh, not really. He usually makes some obvious mistakes, such as drawing two right hands on a girl and inverting another’s feet. You’d think he’s doing that on purpose if you’ve seen how many drawings of his with those mistakes.

    Not that I’m not happy with the LE as is, but I would have loved something like this for Hakuoki.  Hint for the future release of Hiiro no Kakera, Aksys. :)
