Gundam Extreme Vs. Gets A "Full" Upgrade For Arcades In April

With Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs. in PS3s around Japan, Namco Bandai decided to refresh the arcade game with a new version.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs. Full Boost is slated for release in April 2012 in arcades. It isn’t clear what’s new aside from the theme song "Fight it out Feat. K (Pay Money to My Pain)" by Akihiro Namba and Takeshi Ueda. You can listen to the game’s theme song here.

I hope the “Full” here mean that it will have all the DLC MS that is left behind like Blue Destiny and Arche gundam.

    • SolNeko

all the dlc units from the ps3 version are in aswell as new ones

      • theworldofnoboundries

That will be one hell of a number in game.

  • SolNeko

sure hope that they port this to ps3 too by december, one of my most played games at the moment :D

  • Shogunreaper

they should release this one for the psp

  • Ladius

I hope they rerelease it on PS3 with all the dlc ms, not to mention the “minor” units that were playable in Rengou vs ZAFT 2. That said, even the vanilla PS3 release is gorgeous, I had a blast playing it with one of my Gundam-addicted friends.

hope the ps3 version get the DLC upgrade

  • ThomasTruong

I’ll be in the minority, but I prefer Linkin Park’s “The Catalyst” over this new theme.

  • Luna Kazemaru

lol I think I like the old theme

does people still go to arcades?

    • Gatchaman1

In Japan and certain other parts of Asia? Yes.  In the West? Not so much.

  • Exand

There are a lot of cost changes and adjustments to units.

There are also lot of scans floating around with a lot of new units added too
    From 0079: Gyan
    From Side Story: Efreet Kai
    From Z: The-O*
    From V: V, Gottrlatan*
    From Unicorn: Banshee
From Seed: Freedom*, Assault Shroud Duel
    From Seed Destiny: Impulse
    From Stargazer: Strike Noir, Stargazer
From 00: Reborns, Throne Drei, Arche*
    From Extreme Gundam: Extreme Gundam
*some units have been released as DLC for EXVS

Incomplete, but those are the ones I’ve seen online. I’m missing a couple too since I did this off the top of my head.

That Strike Noir rumour is the one I want to materialise the most. It’s been too long since Rengou vs ZAFT 2 and I need to pilot that sexy thing again with improved controls and BD.

      • Exand

Strike Noir isn’t a rumor, it’s already listed on the Full Boost website :)

        • http://myfigurecollection.net/collection/ashgail Ashgail

Gahhhh that’s great. He was rumoured to be DLC for Ex VS, and most probably will by now. *sigh* Too many awesome players in rooms, I can’t even make a name for myself, lol.

    • theworldofnoboundries

I think u forget blue destiny there.

      • Exand

Right I always forget about that DLC unit. And I’m missing DLC Zeong too.

And not so much a Western fan placating mummer from Bandai about a Western release.

How did this console generation go so wrong?

    • Gatchaman1

      1. Lack of Gundam shows on mainstream Western TV as opposed to the mid to late 90′s
      2. Gundam Crossfire
      3. Bandai merging with Namco
      4. The shutting down of most arcades in the West
      5. I like pie

      • godmars

Talking about the PS3 game. They could put out three Dynasty Warriors, they could put this one out

        • Gatchaman1

I know what you are talking about godmars. I share your frustration.
Yet still, I gave you the 4 reasons why NamcoBandai feels it is a worthless cause to localize any Bandai made Gundam game.
They don’t develop the DW Gundam games; TecmoKoei does. Bandai just holds the game making license, so they get the publishing rights. Hence, they do not have to put up as much money so its less of a risk for them. Also, they feel the DW market will gravitate to the DW Gundam games since DW has a decent following in the West. And word is DW Gundam 3 didnt even sell all that well in the West, so that only even more solidifies the point that they would probably not further localize any Gundam games.
In short, BandaiNamco is a bunch of biased sissies.
This is all stuff I figured you would know already though..

  • Gatchaman1

Bandai needs to make a SRW VS game

Is it just me or was that one of the worst sounding songs anyone has ever heard? I don’t like Lincon Park’s song right now but I’d take that anyday over this new one <.<
