By Spencer . February 8, 2012 . 1:21am

Flick Vitas Rear Touchpad, Slash Throat In Metal Gear Solid For VitaKonami is adding a few control options to the Vita version of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. Hideo Kojima tweeted you can slit an enemy’s throat with your knife by flicking the rear touchpad. Use a pinch out motion on the rear touchpad while in first person view and you can stretch your character.

Kojima mentioned these controls while recording new lines for Major Zero in Japan. In Japan, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is called Metal Gear Solid HD Edition since it only includes Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3.

Huh, looking at that screen, Peace Walker seem to be missing, and that is some sexy Foxhound skin! XD

    • Herok

if its the same exact thing as the other japan version they wont get it, but the U.S. and Europe still should.

      • CrimsonalCore

Oooooh, wow, that’s really sucks. D:

Or you can, you know, press a single button
but guess that would over complicate matters

but u have to remember the shapes of the button, like what if i press rhombus instead of triangle, what then?!

    • FireCouch

Except you can’t, because MGS3 has pressure sensitive controls and the Vita doesn’t have pressure sensitive buttons.

    MGS 3 is all I need…

I assume it is a stealth kill where backtouch would act like QTE.

Knowing Kojima, if you tickle the back, all the girls will probably start giggling.

    • Testsubject909

      That’s not something bad.

        Tru dat

what does the rear touchpad do? i didn’t think the schematics labeled “touchpad: was for the rear, I thought it meant the front (from back view)

    • Relytgninroht

Same thing as tge front touchpad. It’s there so that you’re fingers don’t have to get in the way of the screen (but it can be used for other stuff too).

  • Ravage27

Sounds great. I’m really looking forward to playing this on the Vita so please announce a date soon Kojima!
