One Piece: Unlimited Cruise Specials Europe Only Special Edition

Nintendo is selling One Piece: Unlimited Cruise Special, a repackaging of Wii games One Piece: Unlimited Cruise Episode 1 with a few episodes, on the 3DS. While the Japanese version includes Episode 1 and Episode 2, the EU release is cut and only has One Piece: Unlimited Cruise Episode 1.

 

Maybe a limited edition can make up for it? The “special” package includes the game and a figurine of Portgas D. Ace that Japan didn’t get.

    What the point if it’s only Episode 1 when both episodes are released on the Wii? unless there gonna release Episode 2 later… seems strange.

      Official answer from NB : problem of space. The text files (french, english…) were too heavy.

      A lame excuse when you’re looking at games like RE Revelations… And they didn’t bother to explain this to the fans who were dying for this game. It just happened two weeks before the release on their website : a fan asked one question and well, you know the answer now. Pathetic.

    My excitement just died a bit. I mean, it wasn’t coming to the US anyway, but why the heck does the EU version not have Ep 2? Kinda dumb.

      I’m not a One Piece fan, but even I think that’s a huge letdown. I can’t imagine how the people that are real fans feel. (´∩｀。)

      Even though this Special Edition is pretty cool, I don’t think it will suffice for missing half the game content. But that’s just me! ┐(‘～`；)┌

        Yea, this is definitely a cool special edition, it just can’t justify buying half of what the game was intended to be. Not that I could lol, but still.

        Hopefully the US version (if we ever get one) will be more like the JP version.

          Come to think of it, I don’t think the US will get Episode 2, either! (´＿｀。)

          A while ago I saw a used copy of the JP version for $40(That’s a steal considering it’s $74 new). I was thinking of buying it, and when I finally decided to, it was sold out! (*≧m≦*)

            Aw man, that’s awful. That’s why I try my best to grab a deal when I see it. I’ll never forget the time that my cousin passed on a copy of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for $10 when it was selling online in the $100+ range. I almost cried that day lol.

            I figure that if Europe didn’t get Ep 2 we probably won’t either, but I really hope we do. It’d suck for the EU, but no sense in all of us missing out lol.

            I highly doubt the US will get the game at all, why would they even release it here way late after europe? Just putting this, naruto shippuden 3d era and those inazuma eleven games as europe only games we’ll never get.

            You know while you complain about those game never going to be released in the states, I’m still waiting for devil survivor overclock and upcoming devil survivor 2 to release in Europe along with possibly other game that yet to release here. *whistle*

        i have been looking forward to this game for ages and finally its dispatching,it was abit of a let down that it didnt come with episode 2.
        as u said in ur comment: ”I can’t imagine how the people that are real fans feel.”
        i am a HUUUGE One Piece fan and i stay loyal to the series even with this redicilous letdown.. i’m getting the game and when i first read about it only has 1 ep a month ago i didn’t think for a second that i would not get it.

        I WILL get it :P and if they decide to sell ep 2 at a later date to make more money i don’t care i will buy that one aswell :P

      They said it wasn’t possible because they had a problem with the five languages.
      However, I think they just want to try to sell the second part at a later time to make more money.

        That sounds likely, though fitting 5 languages does sound like it’d be a space-eater. Hopefully, if the game ever sees US release, we’ll get Ep 2 as well since they won’t need to put 5 languages on the cart. If they release it here with only Ep 1, then we’ll know for sure that they just wanted more money.

      If you’ve never played ANY of the unlimited cruise games I would say purchase.
      I never got a chance to play it till now, and I’m loving it so far. Sure I’m annoyed about not getting both games but the way I see it, complaining won’t magically add ep.2 to my cart.

    Reading the “unofficial” reason that was given by NB, the game only has JPN audio with translated text for each language. Did the translations really take up that much space on the 3DS cart to not have room for the second game. That sucks for the people who really wanted it. =/

      It’s just an excuse. They could’ve used a 4GB game card instead of a 2GB one.

        I bet the text files were like 3MB too large, so they didn’t want to flesh out money for a bigger one. Much easier to cut the game in half and release the game in two parts (I bet they will do this eventually)

    I got mine on Wednesday but have yet to open the Ace figure up. One thing though, when I booted up the game, it actually mentioned using my save file later in Episode 2….I’m curious as to know why. Perhaps they intend on selling it as a separate game or you unlock it when you finish Episode 1…maybe.

    I actually preordered the game but when I heard that they are selling only half of the game for the full price I canceled the order. The Ace figurine isn’t making it any better; you can buy a way better figurine for about 15€.
