Sazh Has Been Hanging Around Final Fantasy XIII-2′s Casino

Wondering what Sazh has been doing all this time? A new storyline just Sazh and his son will be available as downloadable content on February 28. Heads or Tails takes place in Serendipity, Final Fantasy XIII-2′s answer to the Golden Saucer. After purchasing the episode for 600 yen or 400 Microsoft Points you can select it via the Historia Crux by selecting Serendipity year XXX.

Sazh’s scenario also adds two new casino games: Chrono Bind and Serendipity Poker.

Before Square Enix releases the first downloadable Final Fantasy XIII-2 episode two more costumes will be available as DLC. You can get Serah’s Resort Style outfit and Noel’s Guardian of Space-time garb for 300 yen or 240 Microsoft Points a piece on February 21.

Hey Spencer, was there any mention of addition achievements/trophies for these extra scenario. It’s kind of meaningless for me to play these scenario that has nothing to do with the main story when you gotten all of the achievements/trophies. It doesn’t matter if there isn’t anyway since you get to (I think) play as Sazh.
Other than that, those costume looks awesome but I doubt I will be buying it since 240 points seems a bit to much for what it is.

Yeah, would be nice if there’s extra trophy/achievement since you alrdy 1000 the game and collected all the fragments.. I’ll definitely be getting the Sazh and Jihl (if rumor’s true) DLCs.. been anxiously waiting for Serah’s costumes :) where’s her summoner custome *.*? Noel’s I’ll have to think about, but this armor looks pretty cool. I just like this game so much I don’t mind these extra contents.. would’ve been nice if they did a discounted season pass like other games.

They would get my MSP if they did season pass but it seems too late now that I purchased the first DLC :(

Unfortunately I don’t think they’re doing season pass, usually season pass is available before any DLC is released.. I couldn’t get the Arkham City DLC bundle either since I have the Robin DLC, this week Robin and Nightwing are on sale on XBL though..
240 MS pt might sound pretty hefty for a single costume, but compared to Tales costume on Jpn PSN this is not that bad for me.. 100 MSP cost me a buck (I stocked up on MSP when it’s $39.99 for 4000 pts), so this is like $2.40 for me.. if I’m getting costume on Jpn PSN, 300 yen would cost me double like $6.. I need that Serah swimsuit :) Sazh for $4 is also ok by me.. hope extra achievement.

Noel has always looked like a Kingdom hearts character. In fact, the whole time I’m playing, I can’t help but see him as a grown up version of Sora.

I don’t know whether you’ve misread the article, but you CAN unlock Sazh as a useable character. The mini-games are in addition. He’s getting his own whole storyline. Yeah, he isn’t going to be available as a third party member (I assume, unless he comes with his own Coliseum battle) – but which would you prefer, a support Sazh filling one of your Paradigm Pack slots or a whole episode solely revolving around Sazh?
Personally, I’m psyched to get to find out what happens to Sazh prior to the final battle and what goes down with him in Serendipity.

Well, what do you think happens when you download him? I’m using ‘download a new character’ and ‘unlock a new character’ to mean the same thing. Downloading the additional game data unlocks a new scenario in which you play as Sazh, therefore, in my mind, this DLC unlocks Sazh. I don’t know if you’re defining it a different way?

In the days before consoles could connect to the internet and paying extra for DLC, all the player had to do to get extra goodies was to do a certain quest or meet certain requirements and that allowed them to unlock things. DLC is usually paid for and not originally included with the game. Unlockable is still something extra but it is still originally with the game and you don’t have to pay extra for it.

Oh, OK, so it’s just that we have a different meaning of ‘unlockable’. I refer to something as being ‘unlocked’ whether you pay for it or not.
Either way, IGN just posted that Sazh is recruitable after completing the storyline, so I guess that answers that question :)

Also hoping that there’ll be additional achievements/trophies, though I assume having 2 extra mini-games at the casino will help out for Serendipitous.

Any word on whether this is going to be another simultaneous international release? I would guess that a full scenario would be more difficult to localise than the Coliseum battles since there’s presumably more talking and goings-on. Would still be cool though to keep up with Japan :)
EDIT: Ignore me, this has just been posted on IGN – seems like it is simultaneous as they’re giving English pricings. £2.99, not bad at all.
The IGN story also says that Sazh is recruitable after completing the storyline :)

I know it’s fanservice, but… Why did they have to make Serah look so, well, “skanky?” I mean, she’s more of an innocent character, and this outfit takes that away. Although, I suppose I could see Lightning wearing something like this, since she’s viewed as a more mature character.

Nah, I disagree. I mean, it is fanservice, but it would definitely be fanservice if Lightning ever had a costume like this, because, like you said, Lightning is considered the more adult character, and seeing her in almost childlike colors would be strange. Unlike Serah, who, like you also said, is innocent, the color choice and pattern makes it suit her age and innocent personality. It’s a cute bikini, not a sexy one.

They could just make it maroon for Lighting. But it is undoubtedly a sexy bikini. It is cute itself, but it’s made to make her look sexy, and it does.
