Yoshinori Ono Asks Fans To Wait For Details On Vita Characters For ConsolesCapcom Japan announced Street Fighter X Tekken for PlayStation Vita will include twelve extra fighters, but won’t be available until the fall.

Will Cody and Lars be playable on consoles? Fans asked Street Fighter X Tekken producer Yoshinori Ono on Twitter who responded with "[please] wait its detail… I’ll say about that when the time comes." Ono also teased there will be news soon about (more?) new characters for Street Fighter X Tekken. Capcom also says they will release new features and DLC over the coming months.

Ono reassured another tweeter from Japan that Capcom will not restrict extra features to a disc-only update like Super Street Fighter IV. He says the company’s current policy is to release a "plus alpha" update if a new disc version is released.

    … I think I get it now.

They’re going to release a “Plus” version in winter, including all the DLC AND the Vita characters, and that will be the default Vita versions.

    Super/Ultimate/Arcade Editon (choose yourself) confirmed ! I’ll gladly wait… :D

Capcom just loves to milk those fighters! Have they not notice each new version drops by 50% in overall sales. Keep it cheap DLC, and call it a day.

“Plus Alpha” –> Alpha: Cody Guy

There you go… SUPER/ULTIMATE/Arcade/Whatever SFxTk is unofficially confirmed… hahaha
I’ll still get the first release though, for warming up, and then the actual battle will be with this bigger cast release. So sad I won’t be playing Cody soon though… I love myself throwing rocks at my opponent XD

Even IF a version of the game that has all the DLC is going to be released I’m still gonna buy the first release copy of the game and buy the DLC characters when they are available. I’m gonna need as much time as i can with the game to try and get good at it. Though, I’m thinking of getting the Vita version as well so i can have the game on the go.

  • ResidentMetroid

Oh so I can put this game on hold since there’ll be another version coming out? Good, cause there’s plenty of games I want to get on March. I might actually get Naruto Generations then.

  • gundamfan

did you guys not read the thing ono said “IF they conisider” and they said they will release dlc over the “according months” it means the characters will be dlc.

I don’t see the problem here, they’re giving you options.  If you buy the game at launch, you can purchase the DLC at a cheaper price.  If you wait, you can purchase the new version.

Other than not expanding the game at all, what else can Capcom do?  You could argue Capcom could just release everything, but then you’d be arguing against every game that has DLC.  Waiting for a game to drop in price isn’t a new concept.  Except here, when you wait, not only is the game cheaper but it gives you MORE content.

People complain about DLC, they picture without it, we’d have all this extra content at no extra cost.  The way it would most likely be without DLC, we wouldn’t have this extra content AT ALL.

“You could argue Capcom could just release everything, but then you’d be arguing against every game that has DLC.” we clearly DO do that…in fact all the time.

If we didn’t have it at all we wouldn’t know what we would be missing so all would be good.

    • Gatchaman1

Its not extra content its stuff that should be on the disc to begin with

  • kroufonz

no problem, unless they announce karin as dlc character i can just wait for super/ultimate edition.

  • Hinataharem

Guys, it is possible for them to release things on this wonderful new technology called the internet. In fact, he just said that.

*gasp* Releasing stuff through DLC versus a new version? Impossibru!

People from SRK are defendin’ Capcom once again, huh?  So glad I’m on the good side of SNK and not deal with any drama.

  • Kitestwinblades

That;s an interesting trade. So now we get the bonus PSVita characters- that where confirmed a while back- for PS3, while more are to come for the vita on the horizon. I kinda wish we could have those future character first and then the earlier announced stuff later on via. But I love ALL of it so take your time Ono. After all Classic box art Megaman dilemma Its probably for the best anyway.

I was talking to my brother about this yesterday. Super street fighter x tekken incoming. Glad I’m waiting for it. Seriously at least pretend to wait until the game is out. Given UMVC3 isn’t meeting their expectations (though its nowhere near the flop VG Chartz claimed) I’d say people are learning. If people stand up to them they will change their policies over re-releases and DLC.

Capcon need to learn there is only so far these greedy business tactics get you. I wouldn’t be surprised if this SFXT update got on Wii U as well. Heck I’d welcome it. But I am waiting this time. At least until an update comes along.

As a Vita owner, I have to admit. The system isn’t exactly what I want to play a fighting game on. It’s nice to be able to practice combos, but if you play stick, than that isn’t much help. Also I hate the four buttons on the vita. X O T S, are all close together, and smaller than they were on the psp (or with the dual analogue stick it sure feels like it) Pressing the keys pushes your system which is also the screen back. Oh and of course, the D-pad on the vita is a downgrade from psp. I hate how they are linked together at the center. Performing a dragon punch motion will be more difficult… but I guess with all these said complaints. This could fine tune my skills?
