For The First Time, Monsters Move In Etrian Odyssey IV

Etrian Odyssey IV replaces drawings from monster artist Shin Nagasawa with sprites for the first time. The monsters in the upcoming 3DS game are still based on Nagasawa’s work and monster motion designer Nakajima wrote a blog about animating Nagasawa’s artwork.

Etrain Odyssey IV, Nakajima explains, has two wait motions. One when players selecting a command and another when they are waiting for their turn to attack.

 

Etrian Odyssey IV comes out on July 5 in Japan.
