Nippon Ichi will release Cave Story 3D in Japan on July 26. What took so long between releases? It might be adding in new retro game collaborations. Famitsu magazine reports the old-school style action game has crossover content from three retro games:

Crazy Climber

Dragon Slayer

Details on what the collaboration entails have not leaked online yet. Cave Story 3D already has a Nippon Ichi item, the Prinny cap, which you can get in a secret area.

    Damn u Japan!!! T_T.

I would rather getting a game later rather than losing some thing that i can get here.

Considering the general layout, Selios and other things that screen should be from one of the versions of Dragon Slayer Eiyuu no Densetsu (aka Legend of Heroes I in the Japanese numeration, the LoH series initially was nothing more than a DS spinoff) rather than the “real” Dragon Slayer, which is a completely different kind of game.

Regardless it’s very nice to see Falcom involved with this kind of collaborations, recently between this, Neptunia and Cladun x2 they’ve contributed a lot in that field :)

It was revealed the other day in the new issue of Nintendo Power that they are bringing Cave Story+ to the eShop (with added 3D effects of course). It should be up soon, and when it is, they’re going to pull the DSiware version of Cave Story off the eShop (but not the DSiware shop). Suprosed I haven’t really seen it posted anywhere. Definitely buying it even though i own like 3 or 4 copies of the game already- hey, it’s a good game.
