First There Was SimCity. Then The Sims. Is SimOcean Next?

Electronic Arts is letting Maxis make more Sim titles that aren’t expansion packs to the virtual dollhouse series The Sims. SimCity built with the GlassBox engine is slated for release in 2013. And after that… maybe we’ll get SimOcean.

Electronic Arts filed a trademark for SimOcean in Europe for use with video games. Before getting into The Sims (insert fashion line here), Maxis made all kinds of simulation games like SimHealth, SimEarth, SimLife, SimCopter, and the precursor to The SimsSimAnt. SimOcean would be brand new and pretty neat if Maxis added an ecosystem with giant user created sea monsters to play with.
