Etrian Odyssey IV Uses QR Codes For Guild Card Exchanges & Unlockable Quests

By Spencer . May 1, 2012 . 12:12am

Just like Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City, guild cards contain information like the number of steps your characters walked and the kinds of monsters you defeated. You can exchange guild cards through Streetpass or through QR codes, which you can upload to the Internet.

Atlus also confirmed, what accessory maker Hori leaked earlier. Special QR codes will unlock in-game content like quests and items. Atlus will update the official Etrian Odyssey IV site with these QR codes in the future.

Etrian Odyssey IV comes out on July 5 in Japan.

I haven’t been this excited for a game in a long time. Hope it gets out west pretty quick like the past three have.

Also medic girl is pretty cute in a school uniform.

I hope this game comes out here I mean the other 3 have why not 4?

    • And don’t forget Atlus, they usually bring their games over here.  So its like 70% chance we can get this game 83

Just like Persona 4: The Golden? I am really wanting that game too! lol I am so hyped for new games. I mean 3DS, Vita, and Wii U later are all relatively new and it is nice to see good support from the start.

The closest I’ve ever been to a dungeon crawler was the old Windows 98/ME’s labyrinth screensaver, hoping to changed that by picking this up when it gets a localization confirmation.

Seeing that the Casual difficulty is a new feature for this game must mean that this is a difficult series for some. Glad to see that this game has QR codes cos I would be amazed to find myself obtaining a Streetpass hit for anything other than a Mario title. Also, drawing your own maps as you explore is another selling point for me.
