Would be nice to see a Valkyria Chronicles announced for it or Sony putting the Jeanne D’arc/Rogue Galaxy/Dark Cloud IPs to use and getting Level-5 to make a new installment on it. Or a new Legend of Dragoon. At least give some of those IPs they’re sitting on a home on the Vita.

      I have nothing against the rest of the Japanese cast (well, not a huge fan of Teddie, maybe), but JP Rise is eardrum piercing at times, which is pretty typical of her VA.

    Because it’s the original? It was how the director of the game wanted the voices to be like, his guidance is in their performance, not the English dub, however “good” you might think it is (spoilers: it’s not).

Square Enix usually handles ATLUS’ European releases. If i recall, the original P4 was published by SE in Europe. So look to them for that.

  Gravity Rush seems pretty good, but it’s not really enough to make me want a Vita. The only game that I really want on the Vita so far is Ys IV, and we haven’t heard much about that, so I doubt it’ll be coming along too soon.

The Persona 4 english dub is one of the best around~ if you’re so hell bent on insulting a dub, choose one that actually deserves it. Sure, it’s a nice sentiment having the original Japanese voices in a game, but they are not necessary to enjoy it. Voice-acting should be the last thing on people’s mind when it comes to games of superb quality like Persona 4.

ive remember perfectly an example NAMCO in 2004 with ACE COMBAT 5, english text and japanese and english voices! even final fantasy US games have a great cast, but atlus know it, his games are terrible with english voices specially PERSONA saga, why???????? because their games are full of JAPANESE CULTURE and FOLKLORE, so with the power of psvita will be easy input a japanese voices with english text

  Ace Combat 5 isnt a good example because the original dialog and lip sync was to the english voice cast. Japanese was added later, and it wasnt even that good.

    While I agree with you in parts, I just think that a lot of people do enjoy listening to Japanese voice tracks even tho they have no proper understanding of the language, and therefore can’t play the Japanese version.
    
    Of course, it’s easy to say “Just learn Japanese!” to that kind of people. But seriously? What’s so bad about wanting & enjoying voice acting in another language? I, for example, really enjoy the French dubs of the anime series Seint Seiya, even tho I don’t understand any French. At all. But there’s lots of emotion and god, do some of the guys have deep sexy voices. 8)
    
    A lot can be conveyed through voices and the way someone talks, each person has their own melodic rhythm and all. So I personally find it always very interesting to have different dubs for one game / film / series and compare them. And chose the one that suits my taste the best. For P4 it was the Japanese dub, with The Last Story and Xenoblade I quickly settled for the English dubs, because I found them far superiour and lovely. Same goes for FFXII, god, I love Fran’s English voice. I’ve never heard a more mysterious voice than Nicole Fantl’s. 8)
    
    Given that nowadays there’s enough space to actually add a second language track (I mean, what the heck, Lost Odyssey’s EU version even had 6 of them!) and considering that lots of publishers jumped on that train already, it would just be really neat if Atlus would finally consider it as well. :)
    
    PS: I gotta admit, I’m somewhat of an audiophile, if a guy has the right voice I could get all horny from just listening to him, so yeaaaaah. *coughs* My opinion on this matter is probably not very connected to the weeaboos who whine about English dubs being awful and Japanese one’s being so much more awesome. ;>

I always wonder why Atlus is one of the few companies that seem to dismiss the option of dual audio tracks all the time, even though they release so many titles that cater to the tastes of fans of Japanese media and therefore often ask for this.

Not that I’m not enjoying their English dubs, those are actually really good (tho not of the same brilliant quality as Squeenix’ and NoE’s recent English dubs) but I really like switching audio languages on games and compare them while I play the game and then just listen to the one I prefer at the moment until I maybe change my mind again. XD

So, hell yeah, please give us dual audio this time. I’d even pay an extra $10 for that, since I understand that licensing the Japanese audio must cost a bit as well. I’d even be happy, if it was only available as paid DLC from the PSN store. 8)

    Microsoft, Nintendo (tho I’m not sure if that’s just NoE), Namco Bandai, NISA all had a few already, NISA being the king of dual audio releases so far.. ;> Aksys will have dual audio for Virtue’s Last Reward, Ignition had it for El Shaddai… so that leaves us with Atlus, Konami, Squeenix, Natsume and XSEED as far as I can tell.. and for the latter two it’s clearly a matter of money. Konami and Square-Enix clearly just don’t care for japanophiles (just to get it out of the way, I do not count myself as one) as the majority games are meant to cater to both Western and Asian gamers.. but Atlus? They do make good business and could at least give it a try once, to see if it makes a difference in sales or not – it’s something quite a few people of their target audience have been asking for, so it just makes me wonder why they never even gave it a try. I’m seriously curious about that.

Teddie is now voiced by Sam Riegel and Chie is voiced by Erin Fitzgerald. I really hope they don’t change Yosuke’s voice actor -__- Yosuke just isn’t Yosuke without Yuri’s voice~ ^_^

I believe I read that Marie (the new character) is just a social link character though “more party members (you win if you know the reference)” would be nice. Either way having not played the original P4 I am excite no matter what. xD

    sorry to say but they removed the mention of xbox/kinect but surprisingly the PS3 thing is still there but dont be quick to think its being released on PS3 but i guess we will see.
    edit: looks like you were mistaken atlus said via their twitter p4 the golden is just for vita.

      I could still easily understand them doing it, since P4 sold extremely well originally.
      NISA was going to port ZHP to PS3, so maybe Atlus was (HYPOTHETICALLY) thinking it would be a good way to sell extra with P4A coming soon.

Starting to really debate whether I want a 3DS or Vita for christmas… I want Golden so badly!!! (And the original version on PSN Store so I can have this game on a HOME CONSOLE for my PS3).

The updates that really stand out a lot for me is…
1.A bike that lets you travel to another town
2.A winter event
3.Team Attacks
4.A brand new character

Already beat “The Journey” on P3FES and currently playing through “The Answer”, and I just know that if i’m enjoying P3FES this much, I’ll enjoy P4 a lot too! ^__^

Honestly go for the 3ds unless vita gets more stuff since at the moment the only thing to look forward to is golden and gravity while 3ds has tons of stuff, and I am not being biased since I own both.

Get a Vita. It’s worth it. I honestly cannot wait for this. Although it seems like a new game altogether. Which I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

I’m not sure if I will be buying this since I have the ps2 version and I don’t like 4 as much as 3, BUT I’m glad to see they’re localizing it! It’s a great thing for new Persona fans that own a vita. Plus , I don’t mind the lack of dual audio, and NEITHER should anyone else. Persona 4′s voice acting is some of the best, top notch! People need to quit whining about the dual audio, if you want Japanese, get the Japanese one.

Happy to see this announced, but now I’m not sure if I should bother with the ps2 version that’s sitting in my backlog or wait for this… and buy a vita to play it…

Pretty much the biggest (but not the only) reason I got my Vita. The original P4 is my favorite game of all time, so I’m just a teeny bit excited for this! (understatement of the century…maybe the last two centuries even.)
