It’s unclear what extra content will be included with Dead Island: Game of the Year Edition, but existing DLC like Ryder White’s Campaign and the Bloodbath Arena from the special edition are likely.

I never understood why they call these re-releases “game of the year” editions.

Was this honestly ANYONE’S game of the year?

Stole the words right out of my mouth — who gave this game a GOTY award? It was mediocre at best IMHO…

they should call it a “complete edition” or “gold edition” maybe.  Then again I suppose anything is better than calling it the “71% Metacritic Rating Edition.”

It was mine- Before I actually played it

    • James Lewis

Why would you even respond to a 2 month old comment. Why.

In which paralel universe was Dead Island even a -good- game, let alone game of the year?

    • MrRobbyM

Dead Island is the product of good marketing. Despite it’s long list of flaws, it sold decently due to advertisements, especially the fist trailer. Probably sold enough to warrant a GOTY edition. But that still puzzles me, even though it sold well, does it mean that many people liked it?

I enjoyed it. Most of it. There were a couple points in the game where all I did was run and punch zombies on their face just to progress through the story.
It’s not a polished game, but it’s not bad. There were/are some good ideas here that could have made it more eventful.

        i didn’t like it i LOVED it

    • Testsubject909

It’s not a bad game, it’s pretty fun, especially in multiplayer.

It can definitely set a tense mood when it wants to, but it quickly vanishes away after a while.
That and, I keep saying it but I’m serious. I listened to the trollolol 10 hour version song on youtube each time I played the game so to cut away some of the tension from the music and dim down some of the zombie screaming without completely overpowering it.

  • ddh819

    False advertising, anyone?

  • http://twitter.com/GameGodZER0 Ben Sylvia

     It had DLC?

    Did not know that.

Should be called “Not as buggy as the first time edition”.

  • TheDarkEmpress

When was this ever GOTY? Only thing I wanna know.

  • NetscapePizza

Since when was Dead Island a Game of the Year.

Thought it was considered to be pretty messy and poor.

  • James Lewis

I loved this game can’t wait to beat it a 2nd time with a different character this time
