Persona 4: The Golden Goes Meta With In-Game TV Listings

By Spencer . May 8, 2012 . 11:30am

imagePersona 4: The Golden brings players inside a TV world. You can also watch TV and the PlayStation Vita version has programs that aren’t the Weather Channel.

You can flip through the game’s soundtrack, see clips from the anime series, and play along with Teddie’s Miracle Quiz program. A video showing the TV shows is on the Persona 4: The Golden page (check the new video next to card VI). You can also see two new school life clips and a social link scene.

Persona 4: The Golden comes out on June 14 in Japan and is slated for a fall release in North America.

“See clips from the anime series” I assume you’re talking about peruaniland? that shows you the anime cutscenes from the GAME, not clips from the P4 anime series.

    • Dantis

I guess it was entirely necessary to say that in such a condescending manner.

      • http://twitter.com/Cucumber_man Cucumber

Hm? If that came across as condescending it was unintentional.

    Junes commercial please.

Jeez. This game is just about one month away from a release in Japan.

  • JMaster3000

The Vita isn’t region locked. It wouldn’t be that hard to import it.

      • Kefkiroth

Maybe he doesn’t want to pay the extra it takes to import.

        • JMaster3000

          No that’s not the problem.
I would buy it but there’s no way to pay online >.>My parents doesn’t wanna give me they credit card -.-

  • Nosajk

Awesome!!! I can’t wait, i havent finished the ps2 version cause i dont own a ps2 but now this is a good reason (at least for me) to buy a PSVita im exited now!

  • Dantis

Excited for this, but really wanting a P2 EP release date. Also, Arena.

  • RmanX1000

So long PSP and P3P. My old friends. Hello Vita and P4G.

  • Jirin

So now they’re fixing all the problems that should have been fixed in the original version.  Cool!

Still need some original titles to justify buying the Vita, but getting closer.

Maybe both english and japaneses voices?

In my case, I don’t really care because english voices are very good in Atlus’ games but that could be a good fonction.

      • Jirin

I’m not a huge fan of the voices in Persona.  I only care about voices if they happen at conversational speed, not if they wait for you to advance the dialog.

While this is normally true, there are a few exceptions from the Persona series.  One of the most notable being.

        “*Gasp* The Enemy!”

  • scratchbach

Having a more fleshed out TV mechanic does make a bit of sense, considering all the in-game TVs and stuff.

That would be nice if you could purchase episodes directly in game for like $1.  And have them stored on the Vita game card.  Not enough room though.  Maybe also original content not from the anime or even Persona universe.  Maybe cross game stuff with Catherine.

It’s so awesome, all games should have function to watch cutscene or CGI after beating the game. You don’t have to separate your save file just to watch them.

You can flip through the game’s soundtrack, see clips from the anime series

      Sorry to dissapoint you.

Yu: R your TV as awesome as ours?

  • akiko_sakuraba
