You need a 16 GB flash drive to play Dragon Quest X. You don’t need to buy it from Square Enix… unless you want a Momon hat for your Dragon Quest X avatar.

A code for the Momon hat is included with the 8,980 yen ($113) game plus USB memory bundle, which is being sold by Nintendo. Square Enix is selling standalone copies of Dragon Quest X for 6,980 yen ($88).

  • I can’t help but think they borrowed this hat thing from Team Fortress 2 and hopes to get gamers completely crazy over this silly thing just like in TF2.

Why? Lots of games have collectibles that altar your avatar. Team Fortress 2 may be the most notorious, but its far from the only thing. It’s something that the company can charge money for that doesn’t actually change the gameplay that much (assuming this hat is only cosmetic and not a piece of equipment) Do we know about other collectible hats that are going to be in the game?
