Atelier Ayesha’s Relaxing Opening Movie

By Spencer . May 11, 2012 . 9:03am

Gust released a video of Atelier Ayesha ahead of the game’s release. Mutsumi Nomiyama, who also performed Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland’s theme song, lent her voice for Atelier Ayesha’s theme song "Flower Mark."

Atelier Ayesha comes out on June 28 in Japan and it will be the first Atelier game with Tecmo Koei’s logo on it.

So pretty! ;_; Ayesha is the only Atelier game I found interesting. I hope it’s as good as it looks.

  • GUST’s sound team is just so godly it ridiculous. These people need more recognition.

    • This is nothing compared to Ar tonelico’s ones (note: not saying this is bad or anything, as always, pretty awesome :3, just saying, there have been more godly/epic things before x0x)

      • Agreed.

I just hope Gust releases a Surge Concerto game for the PS3

        • lol how weird that you mention that game. I think wildy is the only one out of the bunch who talk on twitter that likes it.

  • usagi_san

Localization. My love affair with Gust has only just begun; I don’t want it to ever end.

  • Linhua

    … oh my~

    … how refreshing~

… Gust has done it again~

  • To be honest, I don’t like this song but that doesn’t affect me as long I get this game. :)

  • kool_cid414

Really reminded me of a Katamari Damacy song and that just made me interested in the game (To be fair The opening of persona3 is what got me into the persona series)

  • Rarutos

Really hope NISA can keep localizing Atelier! It wouldn’t be the same without them anymore!

Love the opening, it’s like a more serene take on what Gust did with Ar tonelico III’s.

  • SirRichard

That’s definitely one of the odder but cheerier opening songs I’ve heard in a game, definitely. Almost felt like I was watching a trailer for Flower at times, too.

    • SerendipityX

^^; Haha, I too had to keep reminding myself this isn’t another Flower game.

  • icecoffemix

Seems like the type of song that would be perfect for nagi

Then again, she’s perfect for any song <3

    • raymk

      Yeah I kinda is.

  • Anime10121

Simply beautiful! I hope that this game is more fun than the arland series, because Rorona was just OK to me

    • I have yet to play Rorona, I heard it only focuses on workshop and alchemy. This one looks like to have some more interesting twist to it and more serious tone but not as much as Iris series. Anyway another JRPG is always a good thing to me and I hope NISA will continue to bring this series to us. :)

    • Nitraion

Try all arland series and you get whole picture :3

      • Anime10121

Its hard to justify the purchase of a series though if the first failed to capture you.  I’m more than willing to try Totori if I can ever find a cheaper version of the game (around 30 bucks).  If that game is better I’ll get Meruru.

Depending upon gameplay I may get this new one even with my lack of interest in the Arland games, as the Atelier series is known to change almost completely with each new series within it.

        • Nitraion

TBH when i play rorona first time its like “WTH is this game is this really ps3 game?, the graphic so ugly!!” then i stopped playing and after a month i play again i discarded thought about amazing battle and graphic then give more to what the creator offer alchemy and story….
and the result i start enjoying it and know what this game to offer i even platinum it XD
And about totori as you can see graphical change is very high even though the game is still to simple for ps3 game but i played first series feel like drastic change..
Well i know how you feel… when the first game not really interesting why bother the sequel? for me arland series needs more time to get love…

          • Anime10121

The graphics never actually bothered me though, as I actually like the Cel-shaded format the games are in.  To me the gameplay was just not that captivating with the whole rushing to get things done and time limit to do anything (I mean it does provide challenge to actually beat the main objective, but it never gave me enough time to actually explore the world in the game).

          • Nitraion

Hmm in that case ayesha might be the fresh answer they said discarded the time limit… :3

  • Luna Kazemaru

    me like.

  • This is freaking beautiful. I want this MORE than meruru.

  • Juuu

Looks great! I like how this seems a bit more muted and such in terms of color and sound, which seems to fit the slightly more “serious” tone what we’ve seen of the story has taken thus far. For example, compare this to one of the Arland OPs-while it’s still classic Gust, it’s different somehow. ^^

My only concern is it won’t live up to the standard the past trilogy set. Ciel no Surge seemed to be plagued with bugs, which makes me worry that the KT merger was indeed bad news, but on the plus side, this looks to be fantastic thus far. Just gotta make sure to double-check for any quality control issues. ;]

  • doubletaco

    This reminds me of Aria.

That is a very good thing.

    • puchinri

Nicely put~. Definitely reminds me of Aria too.

  • Fayharn

I’m happy that GUST back again to make anime opening after what they did on Meruru.

  • Nitraion

22nd come on!! need finish arland triology and start the new series i wonder what place called in ayesha? :3
and i do hope “Tecmokoei” not give weird touch and screw this game…sorry no offense after NG3 i feel Tecmokoei is like bad thing-_-

  • Guest

I really love this OP.  It is very relaxing, but has the feeling of something serious lying underneath the surface waiting to come out.  And just love the colors, it really adds to the feel of the game.

  • GibbRS

    Love the opening. :)

Everything about this game sounds fantastic so far.
+ No strict time limit (really disliked it in the Arland series)
+ Free-movement battle system with cooperative attacks based on proximity (sounds cool)
+ Interesting characters and beautiful artwork/settings
+ Story already sounds good from the tiny tidbits we’ve heard

GUST has been on a roll lately.

  • KuroiKen

Well, at least the opening is 2D. That’s great.

  • ivanchu77

Looks beatiful, Gust keeps getting better and better this generation

  • Repede91

That opening was great! I’m close to the end of Rorona, I own Totori and Meruru comes out next month and now this! I need to catch up…

  • I’m actually impressed with how the flowers appear though other than that, there’s not much to say about what I just saw.

  • the song vibe… i’ts kind of the same feeling when listening to Rune Factory Oceans/ToD theme song. very nice :D

  • Vivian Mai

Man I love these type of openings. It kinda reminds me of Avalon Code’s somehow, with the ambiance…

    Goosepimples everywhere during the song!

  • Taking naps on peacful lazy sundays…..that’s what it makes me feel.

  • Wow, no “Gust flute” this time? Good, good. I know it’s like Gust’s signature music style, but experimenting with other instruments could be a fresh change of pace – especially since they’ve been using the flute-style for about a decade by now. The soft chimes and the calm voice makes the song really pleasant and easy on the ears too.

  • Merulana

I adore this. Absolutely LOVE IT. I love how pale and washed out it looks at time, the brightness is really nice. Mixed in with the text effects, it’s really simplistic and nice mixed in with the absolutely amazing music. I’m glad they’ve gone back to 2D animation. And honestly, I think they’ve really improved at animating since the Arland titles. I adore the first half of the intro.

I could watch this all day.
    I also like those triangles.

  • xXDGFXx

I want to hug her o^o

  • I don’t really like the music :(

  • Darkrise

It’s so beautiful and nostalgic (;_;)

  • AzureNova

This is by far one of the most beautiful openings and works of art ever. Well done GUST, well done. =^_^=

  • This reminds me so much of a rune factory opening (especially RF frontier)

  • Saculogir

    This game!!!

I just cried some serious MANLY tears right now!

Gust, NISA, I pray to you! Please do everything you can to make sure we get this game!

  • Kinda reminded me of a DJ MAX MV called Lost n’ Found for a moment. Nevertheless, it is damn lovely. Cant wait to get this game asap, after Meruru that is :)

  • Visa Vang

Like seriously, I’m throwing money at my screen and nothing’s happening!!!!

    • Kai2591

       You’re not throwing enough!

  • Pretty opening, moe characters with a mix of badass manly ones and a combination of good battle system with good arts/graphic. Yep, sound like I’ll trown my money once more for another of your game Gust.

  • Learii

this  not the opening theme right? because is too short

  • That song is really soothing, you could seriously take a nap to it ^^.

  • My anticipation for this game has increased exponentially. Gust, you best be looking at opening up this gem to the rest of us as well!

  • This is how you make a god damn opening!

  • Deathgod881

    So beautiful wonderful trailer.

  • Göran Isacson

I think the song would be improved without the interjection of those xylophone sounds, and the mixture of the soothing song and the somewhat chaotic animation with swirls of flowers and plants didn’t REALLY fit together… but I liked the song and the video well enough independent of each other. I just think they could have been amde to fit together better.

  • grevlinghore

Hmm, I have never played any game in the series before, but I just went and preordered this along with Pokemon White 2 in japanese. I have no idea what to expect from Atelier Ayesha, other than alchemy and item-mixing. I hope this game will impress me!
