Neptunia V Has An Even Crazier Keiji Inafune Cameo

By Spencer . May 11, 2012 . 1:01am

Keiji Inafune will make an appearance in Neptunia V as… a flying battleship. I think this is supposed to be a pun on his last name since the second character in Inafune’s last name could be read is "ship". Literally, it’s an Ina-ship.

Former Xbox Mission Division spokesperson Izawa is named as the "Summons Division Manager" in Neptunia V.

Compile Heart will release Neptunia V for PlayStation 3 this summer.

    What is this I don’t even…

  • Repede91

This while being awesome, still isn`t awesome enough for Inafune.

  • Ahahahahahaha!

  • Stranger On The Road

    I actually laughed out

I wonder how they will make Yamato fire its main cannon, make him open his mouth?

  • PoweredByHentai

Not sure why but the Inafune battleship thing reminds me of Space Battleship Yamato (aka Star Blazers).

      • Luna Kazemaru

         lol I love you.

        • boundries_san

          Haha me too lol.

In more interesting news, he’s making a new game called Soul Sack. Not So Suck. Soul Sack.

  • One of the major issue I have with Neptunia is Keiji Inafune cameo. Is he REALLY needed in the game which is already the best I can describe it crazy as it is?

    • puchinri

I feel like he’s like Stan Lee. They just put their faces everywhere and everyone loves it and gets excited.

And albeit, they have done great stuff, but they basically get the credit for everything and are really hyped up (even when both have said that they should be getting all the credit). It’s all rather odd to me.

      •  I just started remembering Inafune’s name alittle under 4 years now. People like them deserve praise for sure but there are many creative hands that go into a piece regardless. That’s about like how people praise Lauren Faust all the time for the current MLP, but there are so many other creative geniuses who have worked on other cartoons who got together on it that deserve just as much attention.

        • puchinri

Yeah. I mean, he came onto the projects really late for the first few and didn’t have the largest impact when you look at the whole team. I do credit him for X stuff though more.

That’s a good analogy too, though not as strong. Faust was the creative force behind the show before it started (for the most part) and did play a huge role in the first season. Her role is significantly larger than what Stan Lee alone or Keiji Inafune offered to either of the series/projects they worked on, but it is true that many of the writers and such for the series do get forgotten, sadly.

          •  True, but he still has his personal imprint on things any some of those projects probably wouldn’t have gotten greenlighted without him getting encouragement on fans, why we got two more Megaman games 8bit style.

Faust has pretty much stated in interviews that all the credit shouldn’t go to her as many creative minds have been behind the series as well even though she was the main person who pitched doing a new version of MLP. People keep trying to treat her god tier, which is sort of apt however she is humble enough to spread the credit around as a notable figure should.

  • I am reminded of one of the planes from Budgie the Little Helicopter.

    •  I was thinking JayJay the Airplane, but hell anyone of those anthropomorphic cartoons will work right now xD.

  • Cower in fear, Capcom.

  • BadenBadenPrinny

    Space Dreadnought Inafune

  • Keiji the Flying Battleship. They should make a show about this along with other battleships and a british narrator.

    • “Why, I do say! They’re Ina-ship, old bean!”

      Yes, just… yes.

  • boundries_san

So…. now it is not InafKing anymore but InaFship?

    • kroufonz

      now he is In-A-Ship

  • Ronald Bixler

Oh, good grief. He looks like a military class Seaman.

    • boundries_san

Haha thats why i see at first lol as i thought this is the new Seaman that Nintendo is thingking for.

  • First Keiji cameos as a sword and now he’s gonna cameo as a ship???

I’ll be honest.. I do find the cameos to be funny and I’m not complaining about it… It’s good to have a laugh once in a while…..

    • xXDGFXx

Next he cameos as a planet. You may now visit his face.

  • Hey guys! I just woke up for the day, what’s goin–
    -watches video-

    • AzureNova

Lmao! On a side note, did you get the pic?

      •  Working on it! I will let you know.

        • AzureNova

Ok, I posted it so it should be there whenever you want to grab it ^_^

          •  I got it and I love O uO <3.

          • AzureNova

  • He’s a maniac!

  • Darkrise

Waking up to this is probably one of the best things to happen this week. Wonder what’s next, an Inafune planet that shoots multiple beams and lasers?

I just had a revelation, what if they made a giant inafune head that can transform? Inafunicron!?

  • The_Real_Oyashiro

….It…. makes so much sense !

  • I can already see how this ends when he get kids…

“I got the coolest dad, he’s rich!”
“Oh yeah? My dads face is on a ship! INSIDE a video game!”

  • Anime10121

    That looked extremely FREAKY!

Hope I can get into this game more than I could the first, as I bought it on release day and couldnt get past the first planet.  Waiting for a price drop on the second one (or at least find it 30 bucks used), if that one is better (which I’ve heard it is), I’ll give this series another shot and buy Neptunia V on release too.

    • Best look for used. The thing with a relatively small publisher is the low print run – the first Neptunia was apparently expensive as heck to find used until NISA announced a cheaper reprint to go with the second game’s announcement.

  • Hexen

Inafune: Screw that state of Japanese game industry, full speed ahead!

  • Jezzy

I can’t wait to summon it and nuke a mob of dogoos.

  • ivanchu77

Inafune would be an epic final boss

  • Luis Camargo

That’s a ship to cover your enemies in fear.
If he screams All your base are belong to us in the US version, I will be remembering as one of the most funny ships ever.

  • I want Inafune to come to me in that ship and take me away from this futile world.

  • An Inafune-ship is probably the best thing that will be in Neptunia because the series is really bad (especially from western critics giving the games a 2/10).

    • Raharu95

That goes neither here nor there. People who give it those kinds of scores don’t even look pass the cover. The first was competent, thought mediocre, but still competent. The second is leaps beyond the original.

      • It does indeed leap beyond the original, but, sadly, still falls flat.

        • Luna Kazemaru

           how so,

          • The story is short and boring.
The voice work gets on your nerves quickly.
            The music is blah.
The gameplay, while fun, is just too easy.
            The visuals are unimpressive.

But hey, there’s nowhere else to go but up, right?

          • Luna Kazemaru

             your opinion.

          • xXDGFXx

These are all very personal. Your reasons do not speak for the whole.

          • XiaomuArisu

I havent played the game yet but…
Voice work:I like it.Well the english va dont know how the jp voices sound(heard them in youtube.)
gameplay:TBA but complaining because its to easy?Just because you find it easy doesnt mean other do.I find contra hard, other manage a no damaga run.
nowhere but up:Its sounds like its the worst game you ever should know there are no limits be it good or bad.

          • Raharu95

Definitely simply your opinion. I think differently of it. Some of your reasons have a ground, but you seem too Cynical of it

          • It is.

    • Bio_liquid

    • Luna Kazemaru

      >taking critics to heart

      • xXDGFXx

If I didn’t know better, he looks like he was on a boat.

        • Luna Kazemaru

lol it does look like that.

    • xXDGFXx

HAHAHA! HA! Ha…. Oh, you were being serious?

    • Darkrise

You do know that you’re trusting western critics that rarely play jrpg’s right? And a score shouldn’t determine your like or dislike for a game until you try it… Ugh, you know what?:

  • Raharu95

Despite being awesome, that ship gives me the creeps

  • Bio_liquid

  • Historiata

Please tell me it transforms into a robot where its body is it’s face. PLEASE tell me it transforms into a robot where its body is it’s face.

  • AzureNova

    Best publicity ever! >_< XD

  • Proof that Neptunia is the best series ever.

  • ………

Oh jeez, never stop being awesome.

  • TheBlackKnight3

    Am I high right now?

  • @xXDGFXx:disqus
Kinda already said that those are my opinions.

    >I havent played the game yet but…
If you haven’t played the game yet, why are you trying to argue with me?

    >Its sounds like its the worst game you ever played.
It’s not. It’s a tie between Cross Edge and Sonic 06 for that title. MK2 is an average game, and compared to the crap Compile and IF had released in the past, it’s their best yet.

    >you should know there are no limits be it good or bad.

    • xXDGFXx

actually, no, you didn’t. It wasn’t even implied as such. If anything, it was more akin to a blanket statement.

    • Raharu95

Indeed. You were too general. You never Gave comparison. And please, don’t compate Hyperdimension Neptunia with Sonic 06. The first one was more competent than it. Ok maybe not, but the second one definitely is.

  • … what the hell?

Hey, Idea Factory? How about you get Infinity Ward in there as a soldier named “Iward” with a regeneration ability? Or, better yet, include Capcom as a fat, greedy pig in a suit.
