Project X Zone Has Players Visit God Eater’s Wasteland And Cyber Peacock’s Lair

By Spencer . May 23, 2012 . 10:05am

pxzone53Project X Zone has some familiar locales. Monolith Soft didn’t just add characters from Namco Bandai, Capcom, and Sega games – battlefields are based on their titles too. Players will visit Mega Man X4 maverick Cyber Peacock’s Cyberspace area.

The Nintendo 3DS game also has areas from .hack and a ruined city from God Eater.

Project X Zone includes characters from those three games plus a bunch more like lead characters from Sakura Wars, Super Robot Taisen OG Saga, Darkstalkers, and The Legend of Valkyrie series.

    i need this game!

  • Spirit Macardi

Toss in the areas of Phantomile and/or Lunatea and the floppy-eared character associated with them and you’ll have my money.

    • cj_iwakura

Namco X Capcom had him, and Gantz.

      • Spirit Macardi

        Actually, his name is Guntz. Sorry, it’s a pet peeve of mine x3;;

    • raymk

If they haven’t showed sonic then i’m guessing they won’t show him either.  I don’t think they want non humanoid characters in this game which i’m cool with.

      • Spirit Macardi

Then that will make for one hell of a lame crossover. Certainly not one I’ll be spending my money on.

That’d mean not just no Sonic or Klonoa, but also no Amaterasu, no Red Savarin, and likely no Viewtiful Joe either since he’s extremely super-deformed.

        • cj_iwakura

You mean Red Arremer? NxC had him too! And VJ, I think.

          • Spirit Macardi

No, I mean Red Savarin, the main character from Solatorobo.

        • http://www.facebook.com/Henry.Sky.Successor Henry Ahtom

Red Savarin belongs to CyberConnect2, Namco just published the game

          • Spirit Macardi

Kite and Black Rose are in the game though. So clearly CC2′s staple isn’t off limits.

  • LynxAmali

    “Kaguya: Dyzengar? That sounds powerful.”

    Welp. NEED.

Odds of a localization? None. ATLUS has already shot it down.
    Another Namco x Capcom.

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/EnvyMizuhashi Garyuu ♠

       Atlus, really?

      That sucks. :(

      • Barrylocke89

Not surprising though. The sort of games that Atlus has been localizing these days are very different from what they were doing 4+ years ago. Internal stuff like Shin Megami Tensei still seems to have a good chance, but the company seems less interested in looking outward for games these days in the way that XSeed or Aksys might. I imagine that Atlus now being under the Index Corporation’s direct control might have something to do with the safer choices that the company has been making.

In a sense, I can’t blame them, as localizing random games can be potentially risky and their own studios seem to be producing more games these days, but I do kinda miss the variety that would come out from localizing games from other studios.

        • Guest

Hakuoki was localized. A random girls otome game on a struggling handheld in the West (PSP) vs….this game featuring household name game icons on a rising handheld in the west (3DS).

Still… I’m not holding my breath because…..lol Namco.

          • Barrylocke89

But Hakuoki was a game by Idea Factory, a company that doesn’t have their own localization team in the West. Project X Zone is not only being published by Namco, but has holdings from 2 other major companies (Sega and Capcom). I wouldn’t be surprised if that sort of things mucked things up for releasing such a game in the West in its own way.

    • cj_iwakura

Source? Still, it was never likely, this is licensing hell.

      • LynxAmali

         http://atlus.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10122

        Onion’s post.

    • Spirit Macardi

The game hasn’t even been completed yet, so how can there already be a definitive answer like that?

Plus, Atlus likely wouldn’t be the one to localize it in the first place. The profits will already be split between all the companies and studios involved, so adding another to the mix would needlessly complicate things.

      • LynxAmali

ATLUS USA owns the rights to publish the SRT series in North America. At least, that’s what I remember. The license could have expired by now though.

And well, no other companies going to localize it as well, Namco doesn’t localize anything that’s DBZ or Naruto these days (with the odd Tekken aside), SEGA’s…well…SEGA (That it includes VC3 characters and SW characters which they’ve never published might have something to do with it)

        And Capcom’s…well…Capcom.

      • Tom_Phoenix

Actually, aside from the licensing agreement that makes their characters available to the developers, Capcom and Sega have nothing to do with this game. Everything regarding development, publishing and localisation is in Namco Bandai’s hands.

This was confirmed by Capcom employees.

I want….no!I need it!I dont care who,but somebody needs to bring it to US/EU!
BTW everytime I see that Valkyre she is landing on her butt,is she always that clumsly?

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/EnvyMizuhashi Garyuu ♠

Cyber Peacock’s lair. Boy, I used to hate that stage, but it became fun the moment I understood its mechanics.

I hope his BGM is in this game. That would be amazing.

    I just realised something!
    In this pic:http://www.siliconera.com/postgallery/?p_gal=214146|46
Kaguya seems to dance like her good friend SuzukaXD

  • z_merquise

    Kaguya doing the Suzuka-dance?
    http://storage.siliconera.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/pxzone49.jpg

And there’s even Bruce Willis and explosions in it!?

C’mon, Namco-Bandai! You know non-Japanese gamers want this game in English too.

    • XiaomuArisu

       I was fasterXD
So im not the only one who likes the idea of Kaguya dancing like Suzuka….what if she gets a cut-in for her dance like Suzuka?

      …Now I want this game even more!XD

  • Shadowman

Cyber Peacock lair I miss that place.

  • DanteJones

I feel sorry for the enemies in this game. Everyone else aside, they are going up against freaking Sanger Zonvolt!

  • KuroiKen

So much teasing, and not even a rough release date, duh…
I so want this game, and I’m buying it in japanese, and going to play it in japanese.
Just the hellish wait is killing me.
New Love Plus/Senran Kagura were easier to wait for, even though I wanted them madly as well.

    • Solomon_Kano

As opposed to buying it in Japanese and playing it in English, I suppose?

  • alastor3

when I read Monolight Soft I read Baten Kaitos and Kalas or Sagi

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Ty-Austin/100002154794093 Ty Austin

I enjoyed Namco X Capcom a lot, I would definitely pick this up if the 3DS wasn’t region locked (very frustrating…)

Has anyone heard of a way to play imports on it yet??

  • MrJechgo

Well, crap… now I’ll have this stuck in my head for weeks now…

  • RmanX1000

Cyber…. Peacock….?! CYBER. PEACOCK?! TIME TO RE-RUFFLE SOME FEATHERS! *shades*

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

SHAWN WANTS THIS GAME NOW!!!!!! AND i HATE SRPGS THATS SAYING SOMETHING

  • Göran Isacson

I am now imagining Cyber Peacock crossing into dotHack world and data draining people to build himself up to a super-boss, and it is GLORIOUS. Also, seeing Totally-Not-Bruce-Willis still makes me giggle and warm and fuzzy that someone even remembers that game, let alone gives it enough love to give it’s character the spotlight.

  • Zonron

i spy with my big red eyes, a little blue bomber… when was he confirmed?
    http://storage.siliconera.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/pxzone17_thumb.jpg

any other blue mascots confirmed yet? maybe a little on the spiny side?

    • XiaomuArisu

You mean megaman? He was confirmed weeks ago.
      And sonic isnt confirmed….yet.

  • SilverSven

All of this is old news, why is this being reported again?
    Slow news day?

  • Nicolas Vasquez

    OMG, its bruce willis!!

  • Solomon_Kano

Sweet. I really don’t see this making it over, but best believe I’ll do backflips if it does. Backflips, I say.

  • Jugiatsu

I want to play this game so badly.  Shame Nintendo once again region locked their console.

    • Jesse Thompson

I absolutely, positively refuse to support Nintendo any further.  3DS = this generations Virtual Boy.  And don’t get me started on the Wii…  I’ve never been a fanboy, I own practically everything from Atari 2600 on to the PS Vita, but Nintendo has seriously gone looney these last few years…

  • Masengan

Am I the only one who doesn’t like the art style of the cut-ins? I hope there’s a way to turn them off, or perhaps they will grow on me if this game ever sees the light of day in the states.

  • Julien_N

That Gemini artwork is so delicious ~

  • http://otoboku.se manga

SRPG with a mixup of characters from games I like? Lovely. Will it be localized? Probably never :(

Why is it that the games that seem the most interesting will never be localized? I don´t know what I would be doing if this gets localized. It would be pretty awsume.
