Ciel No Surge Volume 2 Coming In June

By Spencer . May 28, 2012 . 11:22pm

imageGust is continuing Surge Concerto: Ciel no Surge with a new volume slated for release on June 28. A scan from Dengeki PlayStation show two characters – Parry and Korin. More details about Ciel no Surge Volume 2 should be coming later.

Ciel no Surge had players bond with Ionasol and restore her memories. The PlayStation Vita game, which came out in April, is part of a larger Surge Concerto project that Gust is developing.

It’s not gonna come out in English, is it? :<

    • Wait until after it’s released. No way we’d get word from NIS America this fast.

      • Ciel no Surge has already been released in Japan last month, just the new DLC chapter is to be released in June. I don’t think Ciel no Surge has high chances of getting localisd tho..

They maybe be waiting to release all the volumes at once.

Sounds a lot like a niche game, I don’t think they’d ever release it in the West. Look at BRS for example, it had better chances (action / RPG do appeal to people) and yet was pretty much abandoned. Ciel No Surge does sound interesting, but I don’t imagine many people would want to give it a try. Not to mention there aren’t that many Vita users yet~.

      We are a rare breed~.

      • Well the USA is selling more vitas than Japan. So it may be possible they’d try to make more money off of us in some regards.

      •  Black Rock Shooter is still being worked on you know. NISA is just lagging with news, but that doesn’t mean it’s not in the works.

        • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

Normally, when I don’t hear a single word about a project for 10 months (last news in regards to BRS were made in August with that poll about western people would buy the LE) I tend to assume the project died. Moreso when the system the project was for is dead in that particular part of the World (and the PSP is so dead that Gamestop is taking them off the shelves in many of their stores)~.

          •  Well, in Canada, the PSP is still strong enough to remain on shelves at EB Games, but I can understand the frustration there. As to the time between news…there was some just earlier this year (February or March), I found it on the NISA forums for the BRS game.

Aw that sucks, but I didn’t mean the West specifically.

There’s alot of R3(Asia) games that have english support.

I’m a GUST fanatic but passed on importing this. That vocabulary looks hardcore and the game doesn’t seem too interesting…Has anyone here played it yet?

    • kactaplb

vocab is soso, if anything the events are all fully voiced. and this dlc is free.

      • FitzpatrickPhillips

Ah, fully voiced? Thats even better than furigana. Cool, thanks.

    • The game is pretty boring imo, most of the time you are navigating through menus, since everything is based on Japanese time, you’ll mostly watch Ion sleep.. Ion is damn cute, but the is too little gameplay, too much waiting, too much social networking and too little content to justify the import price. If it weren’t for that neat PS Vita sticker pre-order bonus, I wouldn’t have imported it either. :/

  • MrRobbyM

Well that was fast. Can’t tell if that’s a good or bad thing.

    • boundries_san

Lol…… it is still better than Day One DLC isn’t it?^^

    • Considering these are chapters and all of them together complete the story, of which only chapter one is included in the game (I completed said chapter in a few hours – actively playing for about three, since most of the time you just have to wait until the memory repair is complete), I’d say this is pretty late. :/

  • AzureNova

    I believe in you NISA………… =)

  • gangrelion

I think “Ciel Nosurge” is the correct way of spelling. It’s not a japanese name actually.
