Nintendo Land Will Have An F-Zero Attraction

By Spencer . June 5, 2012 . 6:57pm

At a developer roundtable at E3, Nintendo showed off an in-progress F-Zero attraction for Nintendo Land that featured a Mii character driving one of the F-Zero vehicles. However, Nintendo were secretive about just what is displayed on the Wii U GamePad during this attraction, and aren’t sharing it with us just yet.

These are icons representing the various attractions. It looks like Metroid’s in there, too:

I think Nintendo land is hinting at what’s to come

    • PhPhill

      Here’s hoping!

  • Alexisonfire

    Wait, is that Jack Frost?

    • ragnarok989

I’ve been confused by that since they first showed the trailer this morning…

      • boundries_san

        I think that is boo.^^

    • It’s a boo. Sorry.

      • Not a boo, it’s a generic Luigi’s Mansion ghost.

        • Hmm… that’s right… Boos don’t have teeth but Luigi’s Mansion ghosts did…oops xD

  • boundries_san

Ohh man, f-zero diehard is going to get soo pissed here lol.

    • That would be me XD

Nintendo trolled us all pretty hard though. “you want franchises? here they are.”

      • boundries_san

Haha.^^ Should i said wait for TGS? This time.^^

  • It gives me so much satisfaction to see Metroid in the top row along with Mario and Zelda. :)

    • lol How come?

      • Because Metroid is my favourite game series (ever)!

        • lol British spelling of favorite! Yay. xP But I still don’t get it… is being on top meaning it is like awesome? I mean I am honestly confused.

          • Nah, I was half-kidding. I just meant it’s nice to see Nintendo giving another nod to the fact that they still care about Metroid, despite all the challenges it faces in today’s market. I’m honestly very grateful for that.

          • Ah. I see. Yah I am glad they still acknowledge Metroid as being a thing. Now if only we could get them to make Non-Specific Action Figure his own game. xP

    • boundries_san

….is that flower icon pikmin? Or other game?

    • Farid Belkacemi

      Where’s the baby ishaan… ? :D

  • Zelda, Pikmin (YES!!!), Metroid, Mario, Luigi’s Mansion, Animal Crossing, Yoshi (Touch & Go psuedo-sequel?), Game & Watch (I think), Donkey Kong, Ninja thing (New IP?), F-Zero, and maybe Balloon Fighter? I’m one very happy guy right now! :D

    • PhPhill

      Nazo no Murasame Jō (
The Mysterious Murasame Castle). Very old IP actually- early Famicom game.

      • Krisi92

It’s actually a Famicom Disk System game from 86, so it’s not early at all in the Famicom’s life cycle, but ut is in the FDS’s.

        • I’m loving the love that Nintendo is giving to it’s classic games; at this rate, we’ll be getting a new Ice Climbers!

          • Krisi92

That would be interesting! :D I was really surprised that Nazo no Murasamejou would get an attraction. They should already make a new Eternal Darkness game, there has been more than 10 years since the original.

        • PhPhill

You’re right, that’s what it was. Still, pretty old and unexpected IP to bring up. I wonder if they plan to do more with it or if they just wanted something ninja themed… At the very least, Takamaru could be playable on the next Smash Bros.

          • Krisi92

I guess they just wanted something Ninja-themed, I guess, bu who knows. Also, you know, they showed that shuriken-throwing aspect of the Wii U, which turned out to be this, probably.
Also, I believe Sakurai said that he’d use Takamaru in the next Smash Bros if he had another game.

    • boundries_san

The lack of kid icarus is kinda sad lol.

    • Suicunesol

I thought the Game & Watch one was Birdo. XD

  • SetzerGabbiani

That has to be a Kirby representation or something…can’t be Jack Frost…that would be interesting though.

    Hee-ho on a Nintendo first party game…awesome.

    • boundries_san

I believe that is boo though.^^

Here still hoping for more kirby goodness^^

  • Solomon_Kano

F-Zero, Metroid, and Yoshi? Interest piqued.

    • boundries_san

      No love for baloon fight?
      I am sad.T_T

  • maxchain

Is that an Octorok in the middle row?  Suddenly I’m hungry for some reason.

    • Sylverstone14

Actually, that looks like (well, it IS) the Octopus from the Game & Watch games

  • komiko12

Eh. Pokemon is not included. To think it was one of Nintendo’s popular series.

    • Pokemon is a Game Freak title, not a Nintendo one.

      • Captain Bringdown

It’s still a Nintendo property (as I recall, The Pokémon Company consists of being a joint-venture between Nintendo, GameFreak and Creatures Inc.) As the principle developer of the series GameFreak is the main company that does DEVELOP the main series’ games but keep in mind they also do a lot of Work-For-Hire projects.

Very few of the properties they worked on belongs to them — and the ones that do aren’t fully owned/controlled by them.
