Lollipop Chainsaw has an arcade level where Juliet gets sucked into a video game. This level begins with Juliet running from a deranged Pac-Man parody and later an Elevator Action-like area.

They licensed Pac Man Fever, too.

enough with the tease and just show me what’s under that skirt will ya!!!

    • Peace Legacy

This game is not on the PC so there will be none of those sort of mods, you will have to wait for the Doujins for that sorta stuff

Looking forward to it, always love a dose of Grasshopper Manufacture madness. Here’s hoping the Pac-Man level is better off than the side-scrolling shooter ones from Shadows of the Damned, those just dragged on and on.

Great game, I’ve been playing it all weekend.

    • Anime10121

How is the gameplay?  Is it similar to No More Heroes, Devil May Cry, God of War, Kingdom Hearts, etc. (I know its nowhere near as technical as DMC or GOW just throwing out examples).  Thats my main concern as everything else in the game looks great.  Can you give me like a most similar to this game, as far as the battle system is concerned?

      • http://www.geekrevolt.com/ DeShaun Zollicoffer

I’d describe it as a lite hack and slash/beat em up game. There’s depth to the gameplay, but Juliet is no Bayonetta. Meaning you won’t get that crazy DMC type gameplay, things are more grounded. But there’s a good amount of combos to unlock. I hope that helps, I wouldn’t compare it to any of the games you listed.

        • Anime10121

Alright thanks, as long as it has SOME kind of depth to it, I think I may give it a try.  I know it could never be Bayonetta or DMC (given the development studio), but as long as it has more depth than No more Heroes, I’m down.

Releases this week already? Whoa, I remember seeing the first teaser for this game less than a year ago (In July 2011 I believe? I remember being on a short vacation abroad), and it’s now releasing. Time flies!

And I can’t wait to sink my teeth into this game :D

  • Anime10121

Still undecided on whether I want this game or not.  I like the graphical style because if nothing else, it has COLOR unlike many games released this gen (hey, I like colorful stuff and hate the Brown, Gray, and Blue tinted games that seem all the rage this gen).  The only thing holding me back is really the thing that most people seem to be most hyped for, it being a Suda game.

I’ve played a couple of the games he’s been involved in (Shadows of the Damned and No More Heroes {series}), and while they usually sound good on paper, the gameplay/story is EXTREMELY lacking.  I dont mind the story being a little wonky but if the gameplay isnt there to back it up, well I feel like I waste a lot of time and money.

The gameplay in this game looks to be a big improvement over those other two games so I hope that this will be a whole lot better.  I wish they would release a demo for it over PSN or something, but considering this is launch week and Grasshopper (that I’m aware of) has never released a demo for their games on one of the networks, I’ll just have to wait for the general public to get their hands on the game and see if its something I’ll actually like playing.

I bought No More Heroes 1 and loved it so I wanted more.

I got all hyped up when No More Heroes 2 was announced and all the little gameplay clips that Suda made to hype up people sold me.

I bought No More Heroes 2 day 1

Beat the game in less time it took for No More Heroes 1 and I was devestated.

Usually when you hear the word “Sequel” you think improvements and a longer game, but no, when it comes to a Suda 51 game, you get half assed short games.

That’s why I will never Day 1 a Suda 51 game ever again.I even heard Shadows of the Damned was just as disappointing as No More Heroes 2.

      • Testsubject909

Shadows of the Damned, from what I’ve followed, had to be scaled back from what they originally wanted to create. So a part of the fault there lies in the bigwig going “No… no that game concept is just too far out, scale it back so we can guarantee more sales”.

As for No More Heroes 2. I’ve nothing to say… Though I would like to note, one reason I can think of as to why it’s shorter.

        No open map to explore.

No extreme amount of grinding money via mini games.

i feel that his stories tend to have unsatisfying ends.

      • Anime10121

Yeah thats what I’m saying, while the premise is usually good, it just comes out so flat.  Take No More Heroes for instance, I like the whole idea behind the game and whatnot, but the only important parts are in the boss battles.  EVERYTHING else in the game is basically filler and the combat isn’t all that engaging either (again until you reach the boss fights, when strategy finally comes into play).

        • ZBaksh386

no more heroes 2′s end was lackluster and didnt actually resolve anything.

  • Zonic505

    Tronipop Chainsaw?

Man, I keep forgetting this is coming out tomorrow. One of these days, I need to get it.

    • Testsubject909

One of these days… Like tomorrow.

      *looks at pre-order*

  • LittleMofreaky

I bought Shadows of the Damned and pre-ordered this on Friday. I’m a Suda51 kind of guy.

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

    Tomorrow is the day! Yeeeahh!

    You know what surprises me about Lollipop Chainsaw, for how much PR has been done for the game. For only being a day or so off, it’s been really quiet around this game. Only a couple reviews out I’ve seen. I’m hoping the game turns out decent, but more so hoping it doesn’t quietly slide under peoples radars o~o;;

I’m excited about the fountains of rainbow blood and sparkles~ *^w^*

    ship…..faster….

  • Testsubject909

For a moment I thought the game had a “Oh crap! Hide the porn by pressing start!” mode. But looking at those pics, I don’t think that’s quite it.

On another note, from personal memory, I’m surprised this game doesn’t have a super easy one-hand mode.

  • ZBaksh386

i’m not gonna get this game as it reminds me too much on why i need to get a girlfriend.

  • Solomon_Kano

Wait, it comes out tomorrow? Guess I’ll be getting it a bit later, unfortunately.
