Stock Up On Dragon Quest X Virtual Goods By Picking Up Plushies

Square Enix is making new plushies for Dragon Quest X and these two monsters also come with an in-game bonus. If you buy a Whip Ghost or green kid with a diaper you’ll receive a Hardworking person item set which includes codes for two medicinal herbs, a pack of (digital) branches, string, and a sphere that doubles the experience points earned for a limited amount of time.

While you can buy as many Whip Ghosts as you want, only one code for each doll can be applied to your account. Hmm… I wonder how many Dragon Quest fans will have a wall of stuffed animals by the time Square Enix moves on to another game. Each plush doll costs 2,079 yen ($26).

They are gonna monetize the HELL outta Japan with this game.  $26 plushies with in-game bonuses, I can imagine a whole line-up of monsters with codes like this.  This is the way Square’ll recoup the money spent on FFXIV’s lengthy free trial and extensive revision.  I can just imagine how much money a DQ MMO will make for Square in the long run, even if some fans didnt want the transition, I’m sure DQX will still be EXTREMELY successful for the company.

I may not care for the game, but those plushies are adorable!

    I’ll take ten.

If this was anything other than an MMO id buy it or if it had a single offline mode that wasnt limited,I remember that it was said somewhere that this version type was quite limited in this game for a single offline player as one would only get a few hours of play befor having to go online to complete it and hence pay a fee

I dont like games where im required to pay a monthly fee since I realy dont play the same game every day hell ive had FFXIII-2 since release day and have yet to get  anywhere in it same goes for Hyper dimension neptunia Mk2 and a ton of other games, so I dont like imagining im wasting money because I choose not to play the game that day. I would like to play a ton of MMOrpg’s but  after reading about some of the limited offline single player modes I tend to not bother.
I know the MMO version should be greatly expanded over a single offline player mode but I think even if its an offline single player we should at least get a full game of value since we are paying for a game as well and if its only a few hours long befor your forced to go online..

All in all I think if those statements are true I will be overlooking this game if they arent I will most likely buy it given I get a game with a complete begining-middle-end to it where I dont get forced to go online to complete it.

  • So a custom USB will give you a code. A custom keyboard will give you a code. And now custom plushies will give you a code. I think that is everything right? So four codes for getting merchandise tailored to DQX. Hmm… I’d be more than willing to get one of each, the codes would not be used though since I won’t get DQX since it is (paid) online. :/
