Project X Zone Has Over 45 Tunes And Each Character’s Theme Is In The Game

By Spencer . June 15, 2012 . 12:42am

imageWhile Namco Bandai hasn’t announced a specific number of playable characters for Project X Zone, we have a little hint. The official blog says, Project X Zone will have over 45 songs and each character will bring their theme into the 3DS game.

Most of the time, Project X Zone pairs characters together for battle scenes, which means the game will pick on theme at random. Use a special attack and Project X Zone switches the music to the song’s hook.

Project X Zone will also incorporate music from Sega, Namco Bandai, and Capcom titles into the game’s field and event scenes. Banpresto is composing original music for Project X Zone like the game’s theme "Mysterious Project" and tracks for the scenario.

Project X Zone is slated for release in Japan sometime this year.

Ah, Project x Zone is bound to have an incredible BGM, then! Have you heard the little intro on the official website? http://pxz.channel.or.jp/

If that doesn’t get you pumped up for it, I don’t know what will!! I’m very excited to read that each character will have their own theme, and it seems like new characters keep getting added in!

The BGM is what makes a fighting game, it just puts you into the right spirits to go all out! Knowing that there will be over 45 tunes is just reassuring!

What great news to end my day, really looking forward to it! ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

Yup the BGM has been always pumping me everytime i heard them.^^ And to think that many character is there, i can’t wait for the time this game is released here lol.^^

Considering the game’s going to be like Mugen no Frontier : Super Robot Taisen OG Saga, I can also expect the gameplay to be great, besides the music, which also was great in MnF:SRT OG Saga, and very addictive. Looking forward to PXZ.

      • Tom_Phoenix

Frankly, I’m not so sure about that. The gameplay was arguably Namco X Capcom’s greatest weakness due to the fact that you had to execute attacks manually and the enemies were numerous.

Such input-heavy gameplay, while fine for an RPG, just doesn’t mesh well with a turn-based tactics game. Unfortunately, so far, Monolith hasn’t provided even the slightest indication that they have addressed this problem, which is very concerning.

        • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Mugen no Frontier gameplay is very solid and fun. Whats to be afraid???

          • Tom_Phoenix

You didn’t pay attention to anything I said, did you?

Endless Frontier’s gameplay is fine beacuse it’s an RPG. But Project X Zone is not an RPG; it’s a turn-based tactics game. Simply transplanting gameplay from one genre into another isn’t going to work well. Namco x Capcom tried doing that and the result was less “solid and fun” and more repetitive and tedious.

Unless the system is adapted so that it works within the turn-based tactics genre, then PXZ will suffer from the same issues as NxC.

    • Tom_Phoenix

The music in Namco x Capcom was fantastic, so I’m sure we are in for a treat in that regard.

A pleasant suprise for me is the fact that B.B. Studio are composing the intro themselves. That’s preety uncommon nowadays, since they usually hire some musician(s) to make the intro….which is a shame, beacuse the composers themselves are capable of making some really nice intros. Like “Crossing Through Time”, for example:

    “Project X Zone has over 45 ”
    Characters?! OH MY GOOOOOOOO-

    “Tunes”
Oh, well that’s cool too, I guess. (Yes I am a very selective reader).

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

U do know that with 45 tunes, it kinda means that we will have at least have 15+ character each sides.^^

What I’m hearing about this game is impressing me far more than what I saw from Heroes Phantasia. It’d be really nice if they could use theme as a sort of heroic second wind like in HP though.

    FURY SPARKS!

Finalllyy A true 3DS game From JAPAN !!!!!

    • http://s932.photobucket.com/ usagi_san

Are you saying all the others released, bar Star Fox and Ocarina of Time, before this weren’t?

      • Guest

Those are the usual rehashed 1st party

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Umm… Kid Icarus is not coming from Japan here?

  • Mago Iichi

I hope they addressed the hp problem.I couldn’t stand OG Saga because of the enemies having abnormal amounts of hp and all the characters attacks felt like chip damage instead of actual damage.
The repetition got to me too, but this game seems to have a lot more characters so it shouldn’t get stale too quickly.Unless the characters have a small number of attacks once again.

Oh man I would be so happy if games like this, Soul Hackers, and SMT IV came to places other than Japan. Man not only would I be happy but my 3DS as well. Plus I got a summer job so I know im gonna be picking up a couple of games. (KH 3D comes to mind.)

    • Herok♞

SMT IV I think has a strong possibility for localization, the other 2 are huge maybes.

      • http://s932.photobucket.com/ usagi_san

If Soul Hackers does come, which I hope it does, it should come with that trailer of SMT IV, helping it to gain more exposure in the west.

    • Zeik56

Soul Hackers and SMT4 are Atlus games, there is little chance we won’t get them outside of some extreme unforeseen circumstances.

This game however…we can only pray.

  • keithmaxx

Sounds REALLY good, but I’ll tame my enthusiasm with the fact that it’d require tons of localization work for conversations (dubbed or no), expensive licensing agreements and a slightly niche market (because really, I don’t think that many people remember all those characters).

  • Shadowman

Very nice!! But what I really want to hear is an actual release date for the west maybe a little hint like 2012 or 2013.

  • SirRichard

I’m beginning to wonder how the initial teaser stuff (with the chromosones and the lab” tie into the game overall, because that was a pretty strange teaser for a crossover game.

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Who knows, the chromosome here means that all the hero is clone product? From each God(Company?) and they are going to ban together to face the Real Devil(Nintendo lol.^^) Imagine Mario and Zelda as the final boss lol.

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

I wanna play this ASAP but I’ll take a next year release. So many games come out at the same time in the coming months that my wallet is gonna be drained. This game also seems WAY too large-scale to be on the 3DS.

  • ivanchu77

I hope it gets localized, still bitter of when Namco X Capcom ended being japan only

  • IshimaruKaito

think this is gnna be localized?

  • pressstart

Individual tunes? Man, I’m getting pumped for this game! So many classic themes, but what I really want to hear are the Sakura Taisen themes again :D

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

      TEITOKU BANZAI.^^

  • Spirit Macardi

I’m just hoping that Stepping Wind will be one of the themes in the game. Since that will mean its associated character will be in the game :3

  • ArcadiaSymphonia

Please Please Please come to the u.s. i will pre order it in full the day they say it will come to the u.s.!

  • Jugiatsu

I really hope Namco-Bandai and NoA jump on this for us over here in the West. We are in desperate need of good games on our end to boost our 3DS user base.

  • Adrián Alucard

Well, we know 30 chars, if we add the scenarios and de conversations music i think we could have the 45 tunes.
