The only thing I want added at the is point is more characters, like talim.

  • Göran Isacson

Are those custom characters in the new outfits? Because I can’t say I recognize either of them.

  • Wow, that’s the first DLC pack I’ve been interested in recently! The aristocrat clothes are really sharp, and especially nice since I find that the male characters don’t have enough variety in their clothing choices.

    • Testsubject909

That always seems to be the problem doesn’t it?

I mean, I love making female characters but often times in games I notice that guys tends to have a lot less clothing options or customization options which does bother me…

      • Yeah, it seems like the guys are always just given lots of clunky armor. It’s not really good for my style of custom outfits…

  • While an aristocratic outfit fits in the time period of SCV, it just feels like the DLC outfits are just excuses as life-support to keep playing the game.

I rather if there was DLC or patches to add Team VS Battle Mode, Character Profiles, Museum, an Edge Master/Weapon Master Mode or even better yet… a PROPER Arcade Mode or even a GOOD Story Mode.

I’m sorry but I feel Namco execs just simply don’t care about us, the SoulCalibur fanbase, and the fact the game’s a tournament fighter is a good enough excuse to remove what the made the series more substantial than any Capcom fighting games out there. The game should’ve been released later on like in August or something.

Even Daishi Odashimi (subtly) warned us on twitter that Namco wanted to rush the game. Next time SoulCalibur VI should have more time in development for single-player content and if out-sourcing the storyline, give it to Ed Boon and Neatherealm Studios (of Mortal Kombat 9).

    • That’s essentially what DLC has always been, expanding the game’s lifespan. It’s how it’s handled that counts. SCV’s dlc is handled substantially (though with weird pricing) and during post-development, unlike some other games.

Personally the story deserves to be handled by a western storywriter that’s familiar with this type of thing. SC IS a very western-esque series after all.

      • The game would still have to been done the Japanese in terms of graphics, characters and stage modeling, music, gameplay and presentation but a western take on the story would be refreshing from the boring incestious fanfiction in SCV that left a bitter taste in our mouths.

Let’s face it, the majority of veteran SoulCalibur fans are westerners and right now that is something the Japanese can not ignore so don’t take away are beloved iconic character for fresh-faced one-dimensional characters for young Japanese gamers. I would like new characters to be something like Bangoo or an Arab swordsman, not some whiny young blondes who cry all the time.

        • SC’s story already had (“had” as in “look at where it is now”) a western vibe, but a little lacking in genre savvy, I admit. If they realize how rushed and empty SCV is as a whole, hopefully they’ll get a storywriter who IS genre savvy, or just get a western writer.

        • raymk

SC had winey characters in the past but I get your point though :). I will say this though the SCV team knows the west is where SC sells the best at. Remember they added ezio because they knew just that.

    • dont ever suggest that soul calibur should be given to netherealm. none of their games have ever been as up to par as any soul calibur game. they are presented well, but are not as good. theyd just make it bloody.

      • They don’t have to make the game, just write the story. Plus who wouldn’t want to see Patroklos and Pyrrha killed in a bloody violent fashion?

    • raymk

Well they shouldn’t give it to Ed Boon for the story. MK9 story mode in itself was good but the overall story sucked and was cheezy as hell even by mk standards. Just give it to someone that knows how to right stories and they’ll be fine.

      • The story in MK had an episode for most of the characters, not just TWO and it wasn’t boring consisting of teen angst.

  • Nozomi

This is the only costume DLC that I’ve ever really been interested in.

    • Testsubject909

Now to custom build your perfect fighting waifu!

I’m quite serious though. That’s probably what I’d do if I had my hands on the game right now. And then proceed to kill everything with her.

  • Solomon_Kano

It just occurred to me that I still need to get this game. Hm. Well, no time like the present.

  • TheFoolArcana

    dem tits

  • Crimson_Cloud

You know… it would be awesome if the give us some GAMEPLAY content. I can only play the VS mode with different outfit so many times… -_-

  • Angeru_Lito

Now I know what was ‘off’ with the new characters in SC5 they were all made using the character generator from the game, that’s why they all seem to have only 3 different styles of faces.
