Preparing to bring Guilty Gear back to arcades, Arc System Works has a new version – Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R. This version uses Sega’s RingEdge 2 hardware and All.net P-ras Multi, which is pretty much Sega’s take on NESiCA x Live.

It’s unclear what changes Arc System Works is making to Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R, but if you want an early look at the arcade version head to Club Sega in Shinjuku on June 30 or July 1st. They’re running a location test there.

Arc System Works also announced Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus for PS3 and Xbox 360 slated for summer, but still haven’t announced a release date.

    Eagerly awaiting it >w<; It's kind of funny, because of the anticipation for the PSN/XBLA release it's sparked a surprising amount of Guilty Gear matches where I play locally. Seriously I can't wait for it to finally get released so can sink my teeth into some online play, and hopefully get some solid skills down in the game uwu; Plus bonus, it'll probably make a nice time kill for P4A owo;

    There are still arcades? Where?

    • Herok♞

      Japan they have a ton of them.

      In Japan there’re lot of them.
      I envy them, my country doesn’t have arcades since my childhood. Oh, the times of old.

        That’s actually pretty cool, but I think I might prefer this console age, where I can get attached to all my favorite games because I own them.

      Philippines here. We have plenty!

      Trying to find Persona 4 The Ultimate/Arena, though.

        Good luck finding that in our Tekken Cab Oriented Country though. Best bet is to go to Fighting Game casual meetups in the Philippines for some P4Arena action come August :)

    Isn’t it about time for a graphical overhaul? I understand that GG is VERY deep and technical, and I’m not saying fix what ain’t broken, but releasing a PS1~2-era game again and again seems lazy.

      True, Guilty Gear was pretty saturated. But people want online play for Guilty Gear, which seems like a pretty valid reason for a re-release now >o>;

      Don’t care! Guilty Gear is awesome! I’m sure there will be a new version of Guilty Gear somewhere down the line with HD graphics.

  • Göran Isacson

    I wonder if they’re preparing to release a new Guilty Gear game, or if this arcade game is some kind of water-testing to see if the fanbase still responds. Because lord knows I could use some more Guilty Gear in my life, it is kind of awesome.

    … Or maybe it’s just a niche updating that brings online gameplay to the game, what do I know? I certainly HOPE there’s a future game in the pipeline though.

    Guilty Gear XX Accent Core R is running on RingEdge 2 which is the official replacement of RINGEDGE arcade hardware. The new board is still not LINDBERGH’s official successor(which will be capable of UE4), but rather a replacement board like Model 2 was to Model 1. A better built, more high powered hardware board.
    It uses the Intel Power i5 Clardale CPU.

    RingEdge 2 is designed to compete against Taito’s Wii U based board and the Wii U. Technically its more powerful since Wii U only uses DirectX 10. It is capable and designed for High Resolution Unreal 3 visuals running DX 11 and will use Nvidia GeForce GT 425m and ImageTec Power 6 Rogue. In addition to GG XX Accent Core R, SEGA has  new Initial D and NEW racing game developed by Sega China:

    RINGEDGE 2 will debut early this summer. SEGA Orbi has a new Android gaming tablet that will be based off RE 2 called “Sega Notebook” which will use ARM Cortex A15.

    I hate sounding like “one of those guys” but I’d so rather play this than BlazBlue.

       Nah,its cool.
      Some like GG more others BB.
      At least you dont say:I hate BB because its not called GG!
      XD

    As cool as this is, still no news on a new Guilty Gear…

  • http://twitter.com/DuskStalker Paul Edouard Roussel

    Guilty Gear is one of my favourite, if not my favourite serie of versus fighting with BB, but, I really think it’s time for a GG3, Arcsys.
    Sorry but the little game of the “Plus XY delta hardcore edition deluxe ver 2.0a” seems more silly than anything now.

    Because a GG3 on arcade / console, with the very good online of BB, man, i’m buying this like there’s no tomorrow.

  • colorblindnightmare

    Whoo Hoo! Finally another chance to get my hands on gg again! Finding a copy locally has been a ridiculous effort here! I’m sure we’ll get some new gg soon, io’m giving ishiwatari time. I do wonder if arcsys willkeep on with the hardcorps series as well? I’m still playing it.

    Any word as if it’s the R version we are getting?
