This Week In Imports: Anarchy Reigns, But Only In Japan

By Spencer . July 2, 2012 . 4:00pm

Also on this week’s short import list is a PSP to 3DS port of The Little Battlers Boost, Game Arts’ second Vita game Dokuro, and 3D dungeon crawler Etrian Odyssey IV.

If this game is anything like the demo that’s downloadable from the Japanese PSN store, then I wouldn’t mind importing this early.  You can easily change everything to english in the options menu.  I’d keep the the voices in japanese though.  :D

  • 360 version isn’t region locked.

  • Herok♞

I guess this is a slow week everywhere.

  • Dokurochan

Pipiru piru piru pipiru pi~! Dokuro comes out this week! Here’s hoping that the game does well.

    • $733987

Darn it! Now I can’t get that tune out of my head! I don’t know the lyrics, and I must sing!

Bokusatsu Tenshi, *something something* Doku Doku Dokuro-chan~~~

  • Göran Isacson

Gonna be interesting to see how well this game sells… are Platinum popular in Japan? I think I’ve heard they sell better over there than over here…

    •  well, they are a japanese team of japanese people making japanese games in japan, guess by yourself. Do you remember those news about bayonetta selling 800.000 units during the first months?  that data came from the time in which bayonetta was released ONLY in japan.

  • Nitraion

How much MAx anarchy if we import it? I don’t see problem importing this game
I always use both english sub and english sound i think They all great…

    • andref

Thing is it depends on the site and shipping fee which I have found for some games to almost add $20 to the game’s price

    • came up to 8100 yen for me, or ~85 euro

      • Nitraion

        O_o another price that I can’t keep up… damn i guess 2013 it is

  • Pre-ordered and have secured my copy + bayonetta dlc, now I’m just waiting for them to send my final invoice….can’t wait!

    • Barrit

It sounds like you just pre-ordered it recently. Where did you pre-order it from? I only knew of AmiAmi to have the pre-order bonus, but it’s been sold out for a while now.

      • AmiAmi, a week ago. They also just got my copy in and I paid for it just now.

        • Barrit

Oh alright. I think I started checking their listing sometime last week, but it was already sold out by then. I guess I must have just missed it!

  • Kinda sucks the Western release got pushed back.  I’m actually pretty interested in this game.  Also Etrian Odyssey IV!

  • thaKingRocka

If Anarchy Reigns were cheaper, I’d grab it, but at $95, I’d rather grab something I have no chance of getting stateside. I’ve had my eye on that latest Gundam Vs. game. I haven’t bought one since 2002, and I was strangely fond of it back then. I can only hope that the series has improved since then.

BTW, I think Max Anarchy is a better name. A game name should not be a sentence even if it is short.

UPDATE: Have any of you guys played the latest Gundam Vs. game? Has the series improved much?

    • Code

      Agreed, if I’m putting out that kind of cash I want something I know I can’t get here. Especially considering Gamestop is apparently offering Anarchy Reigns for $30 if you preorder now. Also agreed Max Anarchy is a better name opo;

      • Asura

No, GS screwed up, it’s back to $60.

        • Barrit

still has it for $29.99. If it is indeed a screw up though, they are more likely to cancel the order than GS.

    • I have & I think it’s great! Many different Gundam series & styles of gameplay represented. There’s gotta be around 70 Mobile Suits available as well as local & online multiplayer matches. You can also go through arcade mode with a friend & there has to be around 100 trial missions where you can level up your Mobile Suits. (only in trial mission mode) Some of the menus are in english & I believe there are 5 or 6 dlc Mobile Suits. I believe all of them (except Hi-Nu Gundam for the low price of free) are 500 yen.

      • thaKingRocka

Has the series kept its slightly strict and deliberate timing of actions despite speeding up gameplay or is it now played traditional arcade style reacting quickly to what’s happening?

        • I wouldn’t be the best person to offer advice about that since I’ve only played 3 games in the series: Federation Vs. Zeon, the 1st Gundam Vs. Gundam for the PSP, & of course, Extreme Vs. The best thing I could tell you is maybe watch videos to compare & Mecha Damashii was quite an in-depth review for Gundam Extreme Vs.

          • thaKingRocka

             Will do. Thanks.

  • Greek-God88

i want this game so much please give us a release for EU

    •  Ya mean Anarchy Reigns? I heard the japanese version is fully localized in english, and it plays both on the ps3 and 360’s worldwide (entirely region-free), so if you really want it, you should consider importing a Japanese copy of the game. If you do want to support Sega of Europe, you’ll have to wait a little while longer I’m afraid, but it’ll come eventually ;)

      • Greek-God88

Problem for me is i have no credit card so its hard for me to import games as much as i loved to :D

        • Can’t you get one of those pre-paid credit cards?

        • Yeah, I was gonna suggest what Zufield said. Or even ask your bank to see if they have some e-commerce service that lets you buy stuff online without credit cards…that’s what I do, I don’t have a credit card but my bank/accountant company or whatever you’d call it has a special e-shopping service that lets me create temporary online cards, that expire after a few days; good enough for quick, internet transactions ;)

  • Can’t wait to see where Etrian Odyssey IV charts next week.

Looking forward to Theatrhythm, after having a go of the demo. :D
