Don’t Expect To See The Mahou Tsukai no Yoru Sequels Any Time Soon

Back in May, Type-Moon revealed plans to release sequels to their latest visual novel, Mahou Tsukai no Yoru, based on one of company co-founder Kinoko Nasu’s early doujin stories, of which only three print copies exist.

Speaking with 4Gamer, Nasu says that, while development time for Mahou Tsukai no Yoru was rather long, the sequels should be done quicker, thanks to the development team having figured out more efficient production processes.

Mahou Tsukai no Yoru uses high-quality character sprites over backgrounds to create scenes that are meant to replicate the feel of a single CG image without any noticeable differences in quality. The creation process for this goal took a fair amount of trial and error, but now that Type-Moon have pulled it off once, they’ll be work more efficiently in the future.

That having been said, don’t expect the sequels to be done any time “soon”. The scripts for the two games seemingly haven’t been completed yet, and Nasu says that other Type-Moon projects which were put on hold for Mahou Tsukai no Yoru’s completion are starting to pile up.

You can read the entire interview, translated into English by Type-Moon fansite, Tsukikan, here. While it contains a few spoilers (which can be easily avoided), it also features a discussion of the production techniques used to create Mahou Tsukai no Yoru’s art and an in-depth discussion of its characters and story.

Good news is the guy from Empty Boundaries and amaterasu translation are translating this game!!

to be honest i cannot even imagine a story can be as epic and great as F/SN and Tsukihime. my brain simply cannot compute.

    • Well, at least tht something to look forward 4….

  • João Madalena

Hopefully this means they will now focus on the Tsukihime remake, they said it would be done after they finish Mahou Tsukai no Yoru, can’t wait for Sacchin route

  • Natat

Hopefully this means some focus on the Tsukihime remake, finally…

  • Closet_Ninja

one step closer to tsukihime, just a little more

  • I just want my Tsukihime remake

  • PinkEggsandHam

In other Type-Moon news, Sacchin route in Tsukihime remake has been confirmed through anecdotal evidence…

But no one seems to care because of Arc’s miniskirt redesign. Isn’t it sad? TT_TT

  •  Regarding Alice, there hasn’t been a character like her in past TYPE-MOON works. Her expressions, the way she talks, and her settings all make her a charming character. The way she chants nursery rhymes while casting a spell is really interesting.

    Alices frm fate/Extra?
Anyway, so the next game should be fate/Extra ccc ryte? Wht happen to the fate/Apocrypha LN?
