Best Beelzebub Skills in Sand Land

At the start of the game, Beelzebub will only be able to aquire the New Finishing Move skill. This allows you to finish light attack combo strings by pressing the strong attack button. Not only this is the very first skill you acquire, it is a very useful tool to expand your arsenal in on-foot combat.

If you find yourself using a lot of abilities like Rush or Rock Throw, Max Power of Darkness Boost skills will increase your max darkness gauge by 100 points each, allowing you to store even more darkness and deploy various powerful attacks in quick succession. For defensive options, you will want to invest in Brace for Attack for quick recoveries from enemy blows or Aerial Evasion for an easier time dodging attacks while in mid-air.

Best Rao Skills in Sand Land

Rao’s first option is Tonfa Attack, which is a useful defensive tool when fighting on-foot. However, Rao’s true potential lies in his capacity to enhance Beelzebub’s vehicle attack and offer cover fire from his own tank.

His Vehicle Warfare ability is a very powerful one early in the game. Not only it offers extra damage, it will also draw aggro from enemies, giving you time to breathe. Generally speaking, anything that enhances Vehicle Warfare and his Superhuman upgrade will be worth investing in.

Best Thief Skills in Sand Land

Thief’s skills rely mostly on passively increasing the amount and quality of item drops. Between his early options, Boom Box and Item Picker, I would prioritize the latter. While Boom Box can offer some early-game AoE damage, you won’t be needing this since you’ll spend most of your time blasting enemies with your tank cannon.

In contrast, I found Item Picker to be extremely useful from early game to endgame, as it allowed me to grab all types of resources without even needing to leave my vehicle. Spoils of War and its upgrade are also well worth your time.

Best Ann Skills in Sand Land

Ann is a strange case since she permanently joins your party well into the game. It is very likely that you won’t have many skill points reserved for her, and she will take a bit longer than Rao or Thief to shine. However, her skill tree is extremely valuable, and it allows you to choose from a series of buffs or healing abilities focused on vehicles.

Fuel Saver is her first mandatory skill, and it can be a blessing when in need of a fast dodge or a quick escape. Engine Repairs or Engine Maintenance can be a lifesaver, either to keep your vehicle HP high without going all the way back to Spino or avoid pesky status effects during combat.

Sand Land is now available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam. A demo of the game is also available.
