Watch Out There’s A Zombie Right Behind You!

By Spencer . July 9, 2012 . 1:38am

Capcom is promoting Resident Evil 6 with a little TV teaser in Japan. The video reminds fans of the game’s release date, October 4, and mentions the downloadable mercenaries stages. In North America, you get the Catacombs level if you reserve the title at Gamestop, High Seas Fortress from Amazon, and Rail Yard from Best Buy. All three levels will be released as one Mercenaries DLC set in Japan.

Resident Evil 6 launches a few days earlier in North America, set for October 2.

The demo was one of the worst things I have ever played, definitely scratched this game off my list. Since you can know melee as much as you want, I was able to run around falcon punching everything in my way.

The way guns now handle feels awful, and the ability to move and shoot gets rid of much of the tension the games used to have. Leon’s demo was mostly forced walking and talking, Chris’ demo was AMERICA BAM EXPLOSIONS running around shooting what were presumably Mexican zombies since they wore Luchador masks, and Guy#3′s demo was fighting some stupid monster by luring it around to explosive barrels.

Adding to the excitement are constant button prompts. Press A to step up this ledge. Now press A to step down. Press B at this door and wait for the AI to catch up. If by the off chance you get hurt, you can just pop some mentos to heal.

Was it just me, or did it seem like you had to wait for the zombies to play through their animations before you could shoot and hurt them again? I agree with most of what you’re saying but I actually don’t mind the move and shoot thing. One thing that I hated was the menus. While it looks cool that everyone has their own style, navigating through them was annoying. I’ll probably still get the game. While I didn’t enjoy playing it alone, it got better once I played online with my brother.
