  • Roxas? Or is that Ventus? I never really could tell them apart.

    • Herok♞

Roxas you can tell by the outfit.

      • I can’t. Ventus and Roxas look way to much alike.

        • Herok♞

They are identical but the one on the left is Roxas and the one on the right is Ven. Get it memorized.

          • Get it memorized… sounds a lot like Axel’s line.

          • Herok♞

That was the idea hence it was its own sentence I saw the opportunity and couldn’t resist.

        • OatMatadoQuatro

Ventus is dressed more like a warrior, having parts of his armor near his arm. Roxas wears casual clothes (well for Nomura)

        • They’re supposed to :P

          • Is it because of Ventus’ heart being in Sora that Sora’s nobody Roxas looked like Ventus rather than Sora?

          •  Precisely, yes. *BBS SPOILURZ* At the very end of BBS, Ventus cried for someone to take his broken heart, and Sora received it. Since Sora’s heart was broken during KH 1, when he was turned into an heartless for a short period of time, his nobody, Roxas, was formed out of one of Sora’s heart pieces, actually modelled after Ventus :P That’s why they look alike.

Then there’s Xion, artifically made out of Sora’s memories, and also in a way related to Roxas, Ventus and Sora. Ahah, the KH universe story is so interesting, I don’t understand why people criticize it so.

          • Well Xion looked like Kairi not Ventus/Roxas or Sora. Which is probably because of Namine (Kairi’s nobody). And I already played BBS and anybody who hasn’t by now probably won’t. So it’s not necessary to state spoilers. Err that what you will be posting is spoilers.

  • Roubjon

I don’t know if you guys heard, but there are new worlds in this game. Crazy, I know.

  • I’m still wondering why I don’t have a 3DS yet. This game looks way too awesome

  • Herok♞

Europe is taughting me, they have to wait 3 more days and I have to wait 2 more weeks, its not fair.

    • Ben Sylvia

       Stupid Europeans.

      • I don’t see why you are complaining about a measly 2 weeks. Lets think about it here, 2 weeks waiting for a game you really want to play is better than half a year or worst an entire year (yes you ZEN UNITED). Yes I know, most of the time American copies only consist of one language while Europe sometime consist of up to 7(?) so you think you should get the game early rather than waiting for europe to finish their localization but…look on the brighter side, you get a collector’s edition, majority of Japanese games compare to Europe AND you don’t have to wait a long time to play the game or wait for a publisher to announce that they are localizing it. So please, don’t go saying things like “Stupid Europeans” because you have hard time waiting 2 weeks for a game that release first (well technically first in Japan) in Europe.

      • Talbot

Oh, I know. It’s two whole weeks! How will you live? How dare we stupid people get it first – the injustice of it all!

Seriously, get a grip. It’s only a fortnight. Europe has traditionally had to wait up to years for a game, and that’s even if we’re even going to get the game at all. At least as other people have acknowledged, you are getting the game, and not left in the loop like the Wii triumvirate JRPGs.

Of course, I don’t want a reversal whereby Americans have to constantly wait last now for their games, aside from the fact that on the surface, that doesn’t make much sense at all. Ideally, when we’re talking about a company as big as Square-Enix, it ought to be done so that western territories all receive a simultaneous release.

        • Spider-Man

Maybe you should get a grip. Ben was obviously joking.

          • Talbot

            My point still stands.

    • Tom_Phoenix

Well, look on the bright side. At least you didn’t have to wait almost 14 years for Chrono Trigger. =P

      • Herok♞

That doesn’t count, I was barely alive the first time it came out, but seeing as it is my favorite game you have a valid point.

    • Well it’s making up for the past I guess. We received games before them all the time and sometime we received games they didn’t. At least we are getting it at all. I am still not happy with SE.

    • At least it’s not years.

  • OatMatadoQuatro

Looks pretty cool! By the way, an interview? You know what you’ve gotta ask him about the series (Ix3)

  • Those close-up Xemnas shots are pure sex.

    • Guest

      You mean Mansex

      • (Fake) Ansem… Man sex is stupid and foolish.

  • TWEWY characters. Enough said =)

    • AuraGuyChris

In Neku’s shot, he was told he wasn’t the main character. Bummer.

  • LustEnvy

I want this, but I will boycott Square-Enix if they continue to release games with monster party members. This is a sad way of not having to put effort into making secondary characters with actual personalities. XIII-2, KH3D, what else is coming?

    • Herok♞

FF13-2 still had a strong cast of supporting characters even with the last party member being a monster since it made no sense plot wise to have another party member, the same can be said for KH since this one is the mark of mastery exam where Donald and Goofy can’t be with Sora and Riku was always alone to begin with.

      • LustEnvy

Again, I see this as a way to cut corners in not having to make battle specific main characters, instead giving you monsters.

I highly doubt the vast majority would prefer monster characters than main characters.

From a developer’s point of view, monster characters make things easier, so they build around it. If this is the way games are going, I’m saddened by the road RPGs are taking.

To me, it’d have made more sense if Mog was a Ditto-like character that transforms into the monsters you get the crystals from, and Serah’s weapon could’ve been just that, a weapon. But S-E logic… does not compute.

        • Herok♞

In theory monster characters should be hard because then they have to make them individually unlike one main character you animate once. Kingdom Hearts is not the type of game they throw in monsters for sake of ease or it would have been done in every other game they were solo(which shows the characters could have just been alone again), but for plot. Sora and Riku have a test they need to take separately, the other characters aren’t taking the test so there would be no reason to have random party members just because, instead we got the dream eaters so they wouldn’t be alone like in BbS, Recoded, CoM(Rikku half) and 358/2. The dream eaters also give them a chance to test other personal features as well which wouldn’t work with normal characters. For FF13-2, Noel goes to Retrieve Serah and take her to Lightning by time traveling, in that case it makes no sense to include another human character especially since they all think Lightning is died except Serah. This also helps to develop both Noel and Serah as characters since they are only ones on screen at any given time, in games with larger casts you can still feel you don’t know all the characters well at the end, since they have no development time.

          • LustEnvy

No matter the excuses, if Square Enix makes yet another RPG with monster characters in an established franchise anytime soon, then you will know something is up.

          • Herok♞

Perhaps, but they have been doing it for DQ for a long time now so, I am not surprised they used it elsewhere.

    • Paradox me

They’ve built entire gameplay systems around both Dream Eaters and XIII-2’s monster taming, and while I would prefer actual party members, these features seem to have some thought put into them rather than being the products of pure laziness.

Birth by Sleep had nothing like this in place and was played solo (save for a certain fight) because that’s what the story called for. The only difference I see between BbS and DDD is that the latter’s scenario allowed them to throw us a bone in the form of Dream Eaters.

Maybe I’ll feel differently after playing DDD, but the impression I get based on what little I know of the game’s premise is that it wasn’t either/or; it strikes me as Dream Eaters or no companions whatsoever.

    • Hinataharem

You must not play Shin Megami Tensei. I thought monster party members was a great idea.

      • LustEnvy

I loved that game (Nocture/Lucifer’s Bell). Just like Jade Cocoon, and other monster taming games that were focused on that aspect. Kingsom Hearts and FFXIII had nothing to do with it, but to cut some corners, it was added. Shin Megami Tensei was built with monsters in mind. These games at their source have very little to do with monsters. It’s a weak plot to gameplay device.

Not that Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy have made any lick of sense for a LONG time.

    • *Plays Pokemon*
      Watcha say? Can’t hear ya!

  • HD Mansex’s lookin cool! Can’t wait for ze game!

Europeans, all I have to say is… LUCKY DASTARDS! :3

  • AuraGuyChris

I’ll play that upside-down part like it was meant to be.

    *Holds 3DS upside-down*

  • Niermyico

Thanks for those screenshots! *saves* *saves* *saves*

  • Riian

Only two more weeks now. I can barely contain my excitement.

  • Kefkiroth

    Those FMV screenshots look amazing…

    • Agreed. Just think of how 3 will look since it will probably be on PS3 and being so late in the PS3 life it should look beast.

      • Kefkiroth

If KH3 does go on PS3 and not into the next generation… They’re not even close to done with Versus.

        • Hmm… I suppose… PS3 has another year maybe two but then games will still come out for it for at least another year or two. So that is between two and four years still. Versus will come out in like a year or two but by that time I guess they would probably start working on PS4… so I really don’t know KH3 probably won’t be out for a good five or six years so… it probably will be on PS4.

  • MrKappa

Forgot this was so close to coming out, probably because I don’t own a 3DS.

So behind on all these trailers that have been coming out so maybe I should catch up.

  • Izludicus

Game arrived this morning, that 3DS XL needs to hurry up and come out.

    •  You got yours already? I preordered mine from, still waiting ;_; But I don’t live in the UK, so I assume it’ll take a couple of days to get here.

I’d really want to get it on the release day though *.*

  • Göran Isacson

I have to admit that I love how grumpy Yen Sid sounds in one of the captions. “No doubt you fancy yourselves keyblade masters already… why, when I was young you couldn’t call yourself a Master unless you had saved the world four times! In the snow! Uphill all the way!”
