Let’s Take A Look At The Next Action RPG From The Makers Of Ys

By Spencer . July 19, 2012 . 5:09pm

Set for release next week, Trails of Nayuta is a "story action RPG" from Trails in the Sky developer Falcom. While both games have "Trails" in the title, they aren’t related. Trails of Nayuta probably has more in common with the Ys games since you jump, roll, and fight massive bosses. Falcom says Trails of Nayuta will have a deeper story compared to other action RPGs, hence the new genre label.

Trails of Nayuta comes out on July 26 for PSP.

Falcom never ceases to amaze me with their games. Now if only they would stop making Ys so much, well, Un-Ys-like, I’ll be a happy man.

Really? How so? You mean Seven? Different opinions here I guess.

I would prefer something new. Part of me want to recall the glory of the past, and other is looking for revolution.

About Seven, I think Falcom did nice work. It managed to break its tradition while offering some new elements closer to RPG. If I recalled correctly, it lacked a little “adventure” element but for a step forward, I wouldn’t expect much.

It seem Nayuta will bring some new concepts, which might be apply in their future games. About me, I can only enjoy the games.

Looks like a pretty happy marriage between platforming and killing. :3

Still think this is Zwei III in disguise…

    Yep. I want this.

    PC port…pretty please?

    • JazzyMan123

Yeah, dream on if you think Falcom is gonna make one. Most they might do is license it to that Chinese Company who did the PC port of Zero no Kiseki, but the job they do is rather crappy.

It might get more chance of getting localized, I guess?

    Heeeere XSeed!

Oh well, at least it’s not region coded and seems like the kind of game where gameplay trumps story (Like every Falcom game except Legend of Heroes).
