Neptunia V takes place decades before other games in the series, so Neptunia’s usual friends Compa and IF won’t be much help in battle… because they’re babies. Scans from Dengeki PlayStation show a moody IF, shy Compa (with an Octomania bib), and a new infant PC.
PC is supposed to be PC-Engine better known as the TurboGrafx-16 in Japan. She has a bee on her bib representing Hudson. Since PC isn’t in any of the other games and the TurboGrafx-16 is a faded memory… I can’t imagine things going well for PC in Neptunia V.
Dengeki PlayStation also explained Neptunia V’s character customization system called Disc Make. Players have blank discs and can insert idea chips which give you abilities. The idea chip combination you set up can give you a bonus if you end with a "god game" or have a negative effect if you end up with a "garbage game."
In battle, you can call in characters in the back row for an assist finisher. This attack summons a support character and the type of attack you do depends on the Lily Rank level.
Neptunia V comes out on August 30 in Japan.
