Final Fantasy Brigade Hops On Airship, Lands In Korea

By Spencer . July 25, 2012 . 1:02am

ffabSquare Enix’s Final Fantasy social game has over 2.5 million registered users in Japan. That number should soar since Final Fantasy Brigade is going international.

Daum Communications made a Korean localized version under the name Final Fantasy Airborne Brigade, which is slated for release in August.

Final Fantasy Airborne Brigade has a job system with staple classes like knight, white mage, black mage, and dragoon. The game also has an option to fight monsters with friends. So far, Square Enix has not announced Final Fantasy Brigade for English speaking territories.

i think those designs are poor handling from SE for their decaying but still flagship, surely for mobiles 4 years ago wasnt so bad, but for god sake there are even 3D browser games right now! are they even trying?

    • Nicholas Yee

Actually i like this cutesy-ish design. 3D games on browsers dont really fit, they lag and cant be compared to actual 3D games. At least these type of games will fare off better :)

BTW, this kind of design was praised before in Kingdom Hearts Mobile.

Actually. It was praised and reviled here and there. I know some people who complain about it being in Theathrhythm too.

Well, this game never really focus on getting gamer who have played FF to play this game there.

They are surely trying to attract female crowd that is not accustomed to FF brand however heard about it there and will also love the cute picture there.

Considering that Korea has a very high rate on online game, i think this is a good step there.^_^

Well…..except this isn’t really an online game. It’s Mobage. I don’t know anyone here in Korea who plays games that run on Mobage. Most mobile gaming being done is the more regular iOS stuff and domestic social games. Final Fantasy also lacks the name draw in Korea, it just isn’t as large of a property here.¬†

It really seems like a bit of a misstep.

      • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Maybe there, but i think Final Fantasy should be able to tap a certain market in Korea there considering that Final Fantasy no matter what is one of the most famous game brand there.

So certain people would probably play the game there.^_^

If it’s anything like what little I played of Persona 3 Social, you don’t actually get to do anything.
