Fantasy Chronicle Might Be The Cheapest PSP RPG To Date

By Spencer . July 27, 2012 . 6:53pm

Kemco, makers of 16-bit Bugs Bunny games and the Sword of Hope, series are still making RPGs today. It’s just most of their games are for Android and iOS like Eve of the Genesis and Fantasy Chronicle.

What’s interesting about Fantasy Chronicle is Kemco is porting the mobile phone RPG to PSP.

Fantasy Chronicle has an additional event scene made for the PSP version and revised controls. Oh, and Kemco is pricing Fantasy Chronicle like a mobile phone game. You can get it for 600 yen ($7) – a whole RPG for just $7! We’re not sure if Kemco will release Fantasy Chronicle in North America, but an English version exists.

I like the graphics.  Could be a good game.  Too bad it suffers from what I like to call nevergonnagetthis which is sadly the same fate of most PSP games released in any recent time.

Nevergonnagetthis is a very tragic ailment of our time. As gamers, we must do all we can to decrease the number of victims of this sad disease.

I was a bit puzzled at first when I read this, I already have the game on my iPhone.  It’s really, really well made by the way, it doesn’t have that ‘RPGMaker’ vibe to it like Symphony of Eternity did.

That’s good to hear.  I was not impressed by Symphony of Eternity.

    • I really hate that vibe.  It keeps me from looking further into what may be decent RPGs (as in, actually playing them).

  • Definitely getting the iOS version right now!

There’s another RPG for PSP on PSN that’s just 600yen. It’s called “Adventure bar of Wonderland Portable” (不思議の国の冒険酒場ポータブル), and it was also originally released for mobile phones just like this game.
