l_50220660ac4cd [email protected] Shiny Festa still puts players in the shoes of a music producer, but instead of managing schedules you tap to the beat of popular [email protected] tunes. The story begins when you’re invited to the Vacation Island International Music Festival. You bring an idol and fly over to the southern island to enter the festival.

Stage mode is just like a standard rhythm game. Players hit notes to bring in fans, which nets what every record producer wants points money. You can use money to buy items to outfit your idol in a shop. Theater mode lets player view music and anime clips.

Namco Bandai made three different anime opening for [email protected] Shiny Festa since there are there versions of the game.

So what will be the next step?
Mix of manager game, choreography and rhythm? Moviemakerr?
I’m betting on an [email protected] fighter.

    • LynxAmali

Xenoglossia in Super Robot Wars, of course!
      I wish.

Realistically speaking of course, it’s probably, MAYBE, the 3rd “season” of games.

I’d kill for a fighter though.
      Makoto all day, every day.

  • Where are those capsule machines that lets you sleep inside them for months on end? I think I need one now.

  • Want! =)

  • Juuu

Oh my, new songs! For each version! I’m quite excited. I’m hoping these will function as a lovely little portable Imas jukebox, given that no music game is complete without a good tracklist. ;p Also, the OVA episodes look fantastic. Pirate Yayoi has me sold.

    • Is your avatar a Yayoi trapped in a cornet?

      • Rolling Guy

Appears so. Strangely, I want one.

      • Juuu

         Correct. c:

  • Oh my god, Yayoi with open Hair. I think my Mind just ejaculated.

  • Göran Isacson

Question: Is Idolmaster based on an actual band of idols IRL, or are they all invented by Namco? Or am I just confusing this and that AKB48 group?

    • Namco’s creation. Imas was originally an arcade game in 2005.

      • Göran Isacson

Huh, an arcade-game? I’ll admit that I didn’t see that coming: was it still an idol-sim back then, or was it some kind of “Dance to the music” ala DDR-game, but with made-up idol characters as dancers?

  • Iori… Is so goddamned cute in that witch costume
